We all faced the door just as another knock rang out loudly. I exchanged anxious looks with Meredith before scampering away from Magnus's arms. I placed a finger to my lips and pointed towards the bathroom. We all got up and tiptoed in there as I tried to control my heart from hammering so loudly.
"I think you should switch back to Astrid again," Magnus whispered in the calmest tone I've ever heard before.
"I can't; the spell only works once in seven days," Meredith whispered back.
"I'll die if I try it a second time." She turned to me, "Who do you think that is?"
"Definitely, Darius," I whispered, then winced when the knocks began to ring out again, even louder and more persistent.
"I think Magnus should hide in here while we both pretend to be alone."
