Help!" I screamed at the top of my lungs but got no reply. "Magnus! Meredith! Anyone who can hear me!"
I tried to pull myself out, but as I struggled, I sunk in deeper and faster.
"Okay, Astrid," I said and sighed. "You have to stay calm. The more you struggle, the faster you sink."
I took in a deep breath and glanced around my surroundings. I had to find a way to get out, only if I could find something to pull myself out.
"There's nothing," I said as I glanced around again. "How did I get here?"
I couldn't even remember what had attacked me last night. Were Meredith and Magnus safe? I was sure that they would be looking for me now, ignoring the main aim of our mission. I wouldn't forgive myself if something happened to Magnus.
