Astrid
I let out a soft sigh when the hug ended, and we both sat down again.
"What are you feeling right now?" Magnus asked, his gaze steady as it held mine.
"I'm feeling more than one thing," I replied with a shrug. "I feel slightly relieved now that I know what's really going on," I started, my eyes narrowing a bit as another thought popped into my mind. "I also feel sad that Gaius seems to be getting away with his treachery, but above all, I'm furious at the fact that he thought I was stupid enough to never find out about it."
He breathed out a laugh and nodded as if he was agreeing with me. "You are not the only one he played with, though; my family's yet to realize the mix-up," he picked up a book from the table and then placed it back down again. "I'm a bit disappointed that none of them has suspected anything," he continued, and I could hear the pain in his voice.
