Magnus
I was lost in deep sleep, my mind and body exhausted from the long days of planning and training. I was lying in a field, the warmth of someone beside me.
"Magnus." The person said, her laugh filling the air and traveling with the wind.
I felt at ease and happy. She kissed my cheeks, her hair blocking my site. She smelt like lavender, a familiar scent.
"Magnus." She said again. Her voice sounded so familiar, yet so distant.
She adjusted to a sitting position, finally letting me see her face. Her scent and voice weren't just familiar; I knew her.
"Astrid." I breathed. "What are you doing here? What's going on?"
Her smile fell. "Magnus, you have to wake up."
I could hear the sounds of distant screams and snarls getting closer. I looked around, but I couldn't see where exactly it was coming from.
