"So, what do you think she is?" I asked Magnus.
He kicked a stone and sighed. "I don't know, but what I am sure of is that she isn't human, at least not completely."
I sat down on the stomp of a chopped tree. "We're going to need more than a hunch for that, Magnus."
"What I'm worried about is what she's doing with the president. Is she walking with someone?" He crossed his arms on his chest. "There has to be a reason."
Magnus was right. A supernatural being, the bodyguard of the president, sounds sketchy. Could she have been the one who tipped him to come to Maple Dome to investigate?
I sighed. "Look, we have other things to worry about. We need to really focus on our plan and the summit; we can't afford to be distracted now."
"I know; I still remember the main reason for all of this. But that doesn't mean I won't still keep an eye on her."
