Astrid
The soldier was trembling, and the hand with which he gripped his sword was visibly shaking. As I watched him, my stomach sank because I felt the same fear mirrored inside me as if I was staring into the eyes of a monster.
What the soldier didn't know was that those weren't ghosts—not by a stretch. At this point, I wouldn't know if it would be better to be under a ghost attack than to have those monstrous things called Void Hounds attack.
Out of all the times they've attacked, I've never truly witnessed or seen them in action. I would usually pass out, and then something would happen to me. The thought of that terrified me as well. I took a step back when I felt Magnus's conflict. He glanced at me and gave me a reassuring nod, but still, the feeling of dread was spreading.
