This morning was the history class, which was also Ji Aier's favorite course. Every period of history was like a story, unfolding in different eras, with the rise and fall of kings and the alternation of power struggles. Here, one could see the progress of human development and also the most essential aspects of human nature.
When the history teacher talked about the history of the Tang Dynasty, he interspersed with such a female poet of the Tang Dynasty, Li Ye, and her poem "Lovesick Resentment" was very classic.
People say the sea is deep, but it's not half as deep as my lovesickness.
The sea has its bounds, but my lovesickness knows no bounds.
Carrying a lute, I ascend the tall building, the building is empty and the moonlight fills it.
Playing the lovesick tune, my heartstrings break at once.
Ji Aier felt oppressed. Although she had never experienced it, when looking at this poem, she felt a resonance. There were many things in this world that were not decided by oneself but were judged by fate. All they could do was to change what they could change and accept what they couldn't change. Love was the same.
Just like what Ji Aier could change was her attitude towards things and accept all the abuse brought by Ji En, which couldn't be changed.
After having lunch, Ji Aier already felt sweating. As it was early summer now, the temperature outside was already a bit high, coupled with today's bright sunshine. If they were going to an outdoor place later, it was very likely to suffer from heatstroke, Ji Aier thought. But she had no right to decide where Ji En was going. She could only follow.
"Let's find an ice cream parlor." Ji En said to Ji Aier. Today, he didn't ask her to carry the schoolbag. Instead, he directly threw both of their schoolbags in the guard room and wasn't with Ouyang Xue either.
Ji Aier nodded, thinking that Ji En was finally influenced today and wouldn't take her to strange places to do strange things. He probably felt hot too, so he wanted to go to the ice cream parlor to eat ice cream.
They quickly found a seemingly nice ice cream parlor near the school. The various different shapes and styles of ice cream in the advertisement pictures made Ji Aier salivate.
"I want this, this, and this." Ji En kept pointing at the ice cream above and said. What made Ji Aier feel even more like fainting was that he added another sentence later, "All in the largest boxes."
When all those things were placed in front of them, Ji Aier held back her laughter because it was really too funny. Looking at Ji En's expression again, she couldn't hold back anymore and burst out laughing.
"Can you finish eating so much?" Ji Aier asked Ji En. It was estimated that he would have diarrhea after eating.
"Who said I was going to finish it?" Ji En said disdainfully. He wasn't crazy. How could he finish all these ice creams? "I'm choosing which flavor I like. The rest are all yours."
After saying that, he actually started scooping a spoonful from each ice cream to taste it. Finally, he chose one of them, pointed at the remaining ice creams that all had a hole dug in them and said to Ji Aier, "These are all yours."
Ji Aier stared at his behavior in astonishment, thinking that he was really a guy with a strange way of thinking. And she couldn't possibly finish all these. Besides, if she couldn't finish, she couldn't pack them either. So she had an urge to tell the boss, could she deposit it and come to solve the rest next time. But she knew it was impossible, so she felt that Ji En was a super extravagant spendthrift.
