After Prince Harry left later in the day, Victoria did not care if her mother wished for them to head to the Somerset party or not. She knew she would definitely go there, even if it meant buying Beaufort a glass of red wine that he gladly liked, or saving a plateful of macaroons for only him.
In the evening, at around four p.m., Prince Edward had come to see her, bringing with him, of course, beautiful flowers... but all Victoria did was pity him. She saw the way her mother gladly smiled, even if sometimes forced, at Prince Edward. She saw the way he too adored her pampering love and admiration.
