Heat oozing out from the ground making it scorchingly hot and if one attempt to step on it the one's foot will be turned into ash while the ground claims the remains.

The sky was red as if the world is angered punishing its inhabitants demanding them to be damned for eternity.

Winds are howling orchestrating trillions of being suffering in torment creating a disharmonious cry of grief and pain.

"Urgh..."

Har found himself in a pit where bones and flesh rotting everywhere.

Unlike its burning ground counterpart, the deep pit was cold reaching the temperature of 10 degrees Celsius.

Har's legs were shaking, and his arms were folded.

He was still in his job uniform as a store clerk so his resistance against cold is not very high.

At this rate he might die within two hours.

Har looked at his surroundings and noticed that the light was blue when he looked up it was the sky that was red.

The pit was surrounded by rock layers and shaped like a paw.

The wall is shining blue indicating its cold temperature.

Har walked around intending to explore the place and try to find a way out.

*crack*

Bone cracked below and Har tripped making him fall in his butt.

He looked at the thing he was tripped on and saw a skull that has a blue light in its eyes.

It had no body, and its blue eyes were like seemed like it was looking at him.

Then,

-Soul Imprisoned +1-

-Soul Warden: All stats +1-

The blue light from the eyes of the skeleton skull vanished and Har felt he was strengthened.

And excitedly opened his status window.

Har was zealous as he now understands the ability he unlocked.

He could become strong by collecting the souls of the dead, and with great stride he immediately scavenged the skeleton body everywhere in the pit and found another soul.

Har continued but he found nothing after that, he was disappointed, but the discovery of his powers made him agitated and wanted to collect more souls.

The effect of his additional attributes is visible as he is now not shivering in cold, and he is more powerful and agile than his past self.

But the increase was minimal and Har was okay with it.

Har also forged a way to get out of the pit.

The pit is 10 meters high so he will use the scattered bones everywhere to be used as a stair way.

***

The dusk arrives.

-Trial for the punished: Resist 10 Soul beast of your level-

-Failure: Become soul beast-

Har's eyes widened and immediately goes back at the pit and ditched the stairway.

The trial, as Har remembered, was the test of some dungeon to keep its invader away and it has prerequisites, some has exact reoccurring time, while some is activated when you reached a certain point and so on.

When Har reached the bottom, shrieks of level 1 soul beast appeared and aimed for Har.

Soul beast are lifeforms that are formed by solidified souls and took shape of a beast and is famous because of its ability to reform when damaged.

Har, in his work attire, has a bone blade, took out from the ribs of a skeleton, in his hand.

*Roar*

The cat soul beast pounced on him first while the others are catching up because that cat is agile and fast.

Har is trained in combat when he is still in school, so he tried to calm himself and slashed down the cat soul beast.

Despite becoming a clerk in a convenience store, he kept going at the gym and training his mastery on weapons.

This is because, there are outbreaks that are too common inside the city so a normal person like him needs to be fit to remove obstacle or run to their safety.

The soul beast that is charging towards Har became soul remnants was sucked towards him, and he received a notification.

-Exp + 1 (1/10)-

-Soul Imprisoned +1-

-Soul Warden: All stats +1-

Har smiled in delight as he understands the soul beast.

Soul beast are souls, and he is the Soul Warden!

The remaining 9 soul beast that pounced towards him was sucked by the [Soul Warden].

-Trial Complete-

Seeing the notification, Har heaved a sigh because some dungeons send out chain trials.

Chain trials are trials after the awakener finished a trial.

And these trials are only per one person.

If the trial is a 10-beast trial and if a group of 10 person is banded together, the trial will send 10 per person equivalent to 100 beasts so awakeners wouldn't dare to enter in huge groups inside the dungeon.

***

"I leveled up?"

Har level ups but it gave him no bonus attributes because of his f minus talent.

Talents are the reason that dictates people's futures because whether if you are an f, f plus or an f minus talent, you will gain no attributes even you level up a million times.

At the same time, an A rank talent will give 5, 4 for B, 3 for C and so on.

Har smiled as he thought of bonus attributes when leveling up, it doesn't matter to be honest.

He has a Soul Warden skill; he can farm attributes by collecting souls!

Har dispelled his thought and looked at the pit around him, it was filled with bones.

Then looked at the unfinished bone stairs.

It has a height of 5 meters and the steps were bones sticked into the pit walls.

Continuing his job, Har collected bones that could be used as a stair and could support his weight.

Unlike its red counterpart, the night sky in the infernal realm was blue and Har noticed that the pit is increasing in temperature leading him to hurry.

He could resist the heat, but to him, it was uncomfortable.

As for the problem of hunger, he could resist it because the mana in his body gives him the energy to continue.
