Chapter 3 - Farewell, My Suspended World

Cloud Haven was not just a collection of wooden houses suspended among the clouds.

It was a world unto itself, a small world struggling to survive above a sea of toxic clouds.

Everything in the village was connected to the "Cloud Tree," a giant plant with roots extending into the depths of the clouds and branches intertwining to form a roof for the village.

The leaves of the Cloud Tree were shiny blue, absorbing toxins from the air and transforming them into pure oxygen.

Its white flowers produced small fruits that provided the villagers with food and water.

But lately, the Cloud Tree had been suffering. Its leaves wilted, and its flowers fell. And with the withering of the tree, the village's hope for survival wilted.

People wandered the streets of the village with worried faces, exchanging whispers and sad glances.

They knew that their fate was linked to the fate of the Cloud Tree, and that its fall would mean their fall into the toxic clouds.

Adam felt this anxiety squeezing his heart. He loved his village and its people, and he couldn't bear the thought of losing them.

He remembered the words of his grandmother, who always told him, "Adam, you are different from the others. You carry within you a great power, a power that can change the world."

And he remembered the words of Ibrahim, the wise old man: "The necklace will help you on your journey.

It carries the power of the Cloud Tree and will protect you from the darkness."

And he remembered the words of Jaber, the funny fool: "Beware of the darkness! For in the darkness lies evil! And in evil… lies death!"

Those words echoed in his ears like a never-ending repeating tune.

He felt the weight of responsibility on his shoulders. He knew he was the last hope for his village.

And he knew he had to be brave to face the unknown.

Before leaving the village, Adam went to Ibrahim's hut to say goodbye.

"Ibrahim, I'm ready," Adam said in a steady voice.

Ibrahim looked at him with pride.

"I know you are, Adam. Go now, and may the power of the Cloud Tree be with you."

And with the rising of a new sun on Cloud Haven, Adam stood on the edge of the village, Ibrahim's necklace swinging on his chest, and Jaber's words ringing in his ears.

He took one last look at the houses of the village suspended among the clouds, at the faces of its inhabitants who were watching him with anxiety and hope.

Then he took a deep breath and jumped.
