Chapter 52: Thank You for Your Service
The Wasteland
The Night of the Feast
Kaijuu Ryu
The feast was hella fun, we all smiled and drank a lot, beer this time.
Whiskey, never again. I mean it this time
I excused all commanders from duty for the night, Gary got so drunk he transformed and started staggering as he tried his muscle poses.
That night, Felmina and I had sex 3 times. I had to burn off my excess energy and excitement from the battle. I didn't get to participate.
When I saw her covered in blood it strangely turned me on, lucky for me the girls dragged her off before I could act on my desires. It took about 20 of them, she must have forgotten her suit on. I fell asleep next to her she's laying on her stomach looking away, as I gently stroke her back.
The Next morning
She's at the breakfast table. She looks over.
"Morning Stud."
"Morning Felmina."
I get up.
Where are my pants. I look around.
Ah! There they are. I walk over and start putting them on slowly at first, then faster.
They are on.
I make a beeline for the portapotty.
...
Aaaah! sweet relief. I shiver. I love that feeling.
I flush. and close the door behind me with my foot.
"What's for breakfast?"
"Your hands"
I look at my hands.
"Wash your hands, these are your rules, remember."
She smiles at me. I'm melting.
I drift over to the washbasin.
I wash my hands, get dressed and sit down.
we eat.
"Felmina, what was it like when you killed someone for the first time yesterday?"
She thinks for a bit.
"I didn't really think about it, I think it's a bit different when you receive orders and when it's premeditated."
"Do you feel guilty?"
"No... What about you?"
"What do you mean"
I have a piece of toast sticking out of my mouth as I answer.
"I mean you just ordered the death of around 150 000 people, How do you feel?"
"I haven't really thought about it."
We both start laughing.
We finish eating, Felmina turns to me.
"Should I send them in?"
"Who?"
She points at the clock next to the bed.
I look it nearly 10 o clock.
"They've been waiting outside since 9"
She means the commanders. They need some orders.
"Ok, fine send them in."
I hug her and kiss her forehead
"I love you."
I smack her bum as she leaves, she playfully jumps and giggles.
They come in. I take a seat.
From the left is commander Mark, Shirley, Archer, Mike, Lindy, Gary, Shizuku and Richard.
In front of them in the middle is Wilfred and Shannon.
They are all standing at attention.
"At ease"
They stand at ease.
"Let's begin from the left, fall in you two"
I point next to Richard on the far right. They do.
I get up. and walk over to Mark.
"Well done commander, you didn't get to use the shield wall formation I taught you this time, but remember whenever you face a enemy head on, don't hesitate to utilize it. It will save lots of lives."
"Thank you sir"
I step back.
"Listen up all of you, In war the point is to minimize your own while maximizing your enemy's losses, I made you run and do exercises to build up your stamina for this very reason."
I walk over to him again.
"I'll need you to keep your soldiers in line for the next part, there will be zero tolerance for disobeying. Once we reach the capital there will be no killing of innocents, no raping and no pillaging. Am I understood?"
"Sir, Yes Sir!"
"Punishment for disobeying is death. That goes for all of you. Understood?"
""""""""""Yes Sir!""""""""""
"Commander Shirley, you and your men didn't get to see battle this time, but you should know how vital it is to protect the supply line"
"Understood Sir!"
"Commander Archer and commander Mike, the discipline and bravery you showed in the face of the enemy was worthy of the highest honor, Thank you for your service"
""Thank you Sir!""
"Commander Lindy, you had the most complex command of all of us, feeding 90 000 soldiers day in and day out, including distributing labor and food accordingly, Thank you for your service. Tell me have you secured the enemies' supplies yet."
"Not yet, that is first on the itinerary for today Sir!"
"Good, listen up all of you, Support is a vital part of any war, an army marches on its stomach after all."
""""""""""Yes Sir!""""""""""
"Commander Gary, congratulations on a successful operation, 7 days in darkness and silence could not have been easy, but I'll tell you something I heard from my old world: 'Anything worth doing will be hard, we do things not because they are easy but because they are hard.' Another of those sayings go: 'I'm not saying It's going to be easy, I'm saying it's going to be worth it.' Thank you for proving me right and thank you for your service."
"Yes Sir!"
"Commander Shizuku and commander Richard banded together to form our intelligence throughout this conflict. In the world where I come from our latest war is called the information war, It's called specifically that for a reason, the difference between defeat and victory lies in information. You both provided that when the enemy could not, that's why they lost yesterday, they underestimated us just because they had superior numbers. Thank you both for your service."
""Yes Sir""
"Any questions you may have, direct them toward Shannon and Wilfred, I'll have you both record them and visit me again this afternoon, I'll thank you in private then. Also make any outstanding reports to them. Until then stand by for orders until this afternoon. Dismissed!"
""""""""""Yes Sir!""""""""""
They left.
