Chapter 29
"What do you mean?" Arthur asked shocked.
"Well that's what I heard." Axel said. "Apparently, that's the purpose of today's meeting."
"But how did you get this news?" Arthur asked again.
"Well, I heard my brothers discussing it among themselves." Axel explained.
"Then we need to hurry up and not be late for the meeting." Arthur said quickly picking his clothes and going into the bathroom to change.
After a few minutes of changing, dressing and grooming himself, Arthur finally came out ready to go to the meeting.
So after that, Arthur and Axel were on their way to the meeting. They both got to the meeting room and saw that Sophia was there, earlier than them all.
"Yoo, Sophy. How are you doing." Axel greeted while taking a seat to sit down.
"You do know that we are not friends right?" Sophia asked sternly. "So no need to get all informal with me"
"Wooh, chill will you. I was just greeting you so no need to get all angry with me." Axel said.
After that exchange, the whole room was silent. And then after some time, Zeph came in and sat down without greeting anyone. He even gave Arthur some strange looks which Arthur ignored.
And then Fex also came in last. Just like Axel he tried to greet everyone but he was met with cold answers and then he also sat down quietly.
When it was a minute for the said time of the meeting, the opposite door opened and in came the whole council members came in one after the other.
The whole alliance all stood up to pay their respects to the leaders. And then the leaders all gave them the signal to sit back down. And then the meeting was underway.
"So we have called this meeting today to discuss what Sophia found out about the Nightstalker." Lee said commencing the meeting. "So Sophia, will you discuss with all of us what you found out."
"Yes sure." Sophia said while standing up to address the whole room. "After carefully studying the scrolls and the ancient symbols for weeks because it was a hard thing to solve and then contacting some of our spys, we finally managed to pinpoint where the Nightstalker is hiding out currently."
"And where's that?" Xandros asked.
"Earth." Sophia answered.
"Earth!?!" Arthur asked surprised. "Isn't that where the human race live?"
"Yes Earth, that's where the human race live." Sophia answered.
"But why did he go there?" Arthur asked again.
"Well, I don't really know the answer to that question." Sophia replied. "maybe it's to heal up or something. I don't really know."
"Well, thank you for sharing that with us." Lee said while standing up to continue the meeting. "So we have called this meeting today not to only discuss about the whereabouts of the Nightstalker, but to also discuss what to do next."
After saying that, Lee sat down to allow the whole room deliberate about their way forward. After a few minute of thinking and discussing with themselves, Zeph finally came to a suggestion.
"If I may speak, I think I have a suggestion." Zeph said. To which Lee nodded giving him the signal to continue speaking.
"What if the council come up with a little but powerful squad to go to Earth in disguise and take the Nightstalker by surprise while he is healing." Zeph suggested.
"That is actually a great suggestion." Lee said happy. "But there's one problem. Who do we pick."
"Well that's simple. Why not pick us five."Axel said. "We have dealt with the Nightstalker before so we can definitely do it again."
"Are you sure, you guys are up for the task?" Xandros asked.
"Yes, we are ready. This time I will make sure I get rid of the Nightstalker once and for all." Arthur declared with his eyes burning with pure hatred.
"Great. But I want to make a little amendment here." Lee said.
"What amendment do you want to make?" Bryce asked. "The team is already perfect so what do you want to amend."
"Well the team has too much members so I want to reduce it a bit." Lee explained. "I want there to be two instead of five for this team."
"Why two?" Xandros asked.
"Well, if five of them go together, the Nightstalker might be alerted." Lee said. "So I want the strongest and also the smartest vampires to go together."
"Why can't five of us go as a team?" Arthur asked.
"Haven't I explained this already." Lee said visibly angry.
"Fine." Arthur said. "So who do you want to go to the human world?"
"Well, I already said our strongest and smartest vampires" Lee said. "Which is you, Arthur and Sophia."
"But why them two?" Zeph asked visibly furious.
"Don't you know the answer to that question already?" Lee asked. "Arthur is already the strongest among you lot and Sophia already proved herself to be the smartest among you lot for managing to locate the Nightstalker."
Having explained himself, Lee sat down to let everyone deliberate about the issue. Hearing the decision, Zeph could be seen staring down angrily. If it wasn't for the fact that he was in the room with the strongest vampires, he would have left the room angrily by now.
"Okay we understand the suggestion and am ready to move as soon as possible but I don't know about Sophia." Arthur said.
"Am also ready." Sophia said.
"Great. You will move out tomorrow so be ready." Lee said. "You will be teleported to the human world early tomorrow so I want you guys to be ready."
"Sure. We will be ready and we will do our mission perfectly." Arthur declared.
"Oh and yes. If you end up finding the Nightstalker, I want you to not engage. I want you to just track him down and let us know so we could send our full force there including the rest of the alliance to attack the Nightstalker and finish once and for all. Is that understood?" Lee asked sternly.
"Yes. We understand." Sophia and Arthur added together.
Then the council members all stood up to take their leave, signalling the end of today's meeting. But before they could leave, Lee had one more thing to add.
"Oh and yes. I want to warn to be careful because the human world is not what you are expecting." Lee warned.
