Chapter 38 - Excessive statistics

---------- in a few minutes

Sofia and I checked a few more houses and found another chest, and inside it was only a piece of armor.

The same problem is happening again. Should she get this piece of armor or should I?

"Sofia, I suggest we break up for a while, don't you think? We can meet again in 5 minutes since we are already located on the map."

"Actually, that's exactly what I was going to say. If we keep doing this, we'll probably both die before we even find a weapon."

So we both left the house and went into the houses to the left and to the right, Sofia going to the right and me to the left.

The reason why it took us so long to decide to keep looking for things in different places was because of the questions I kept asking her about the game.

She said that there are a lot of people who have a special ability like mine, but it's known as trash. Or more specifically, the ability that I told her was known as trash.

And according to her description, the ability that I have can also be seen as a trash ability. According to Sofia, people need to train their abilities for years before they can use them to their full potential.

And people who have random abilities cannot train their abilities because it changes all the time.

According to her, there are even people who have obtained an S-level talent of this kind, but have not been able to enroll in one of the top 10 academies.

Someone who gains a new S-level skill every game thanks to the ability they acquired might be weaker than someone with a D-level ability who uses their ability skillfully.

After all, in this game, abilities are usually supporting factors, while the materials obtained in the game are the things that make up the real combat power.

When I looked at Sofia's current location on the map, I saw that she was 10 buildings away from me. At the same time, a small sound came from the upper floor of the house I had just entered.

There was no sound after that, so whoever or whomever was upstairs knew I was here and was probably setting up an ambush, but he made a mistake.

Since I still hadn't found any knives so far, all I had was a simple monkey wrench that hadn't been found in the chest.

As I was scanning the house to see if there was a simple trap I could set, I thought of the skill I had and went straight upstairs and opened the door to the room where the sound was coming from.

As soon as I opened the door, I saw two men, one chubby and one short, running towards me.

When I thought about activating my ability, I had a mysterious feeling that I could control the movements of both of their bodies. When I thought both men had stopped, they both stopped moving.

When the chubby man suddenly stopped, he toppled forward and fell awkwardly to the ground like a giant statue.

From that moment on I had no intention of showing them mercy.

This game will be quite easy for me anyway. There are only knives in the game and I have the left eye of the medusa.

I don't even hope to face a fun opponent in this game.

I crouched down next to the chubby man on the ground and picked up the knife he had dropped. It seems that not everyone has trouble finding a knife.

I wanted to relax the man's neck a bit before using what looked like an ordinary kitchen knife, but both the chubby man and the skinny man moved at the same time.

I turn my head and put them both back in my field of vision and they stop again.

This time, looking at them both at the same time, I slowly leaned down and grabbed the fat man's hair and pulled him to me. I crossed my legs under his underarms and cradled his head in my lap as I sat on the floor.

Although the chubby man could move again now that he was out of my vision, he could not escape from his current locked position because he did not have much higher stat points than me.

I lifted the chubby man's chin with one hand and slit his throat with the knife in my hand while I never took my eyes off the other man. Even though I could see the fear in the skinny man's pupils, I didn't do anything about it.

I'm not enjoying the current situation either, but it was the first solution that came to my mind.

The man with the severed lifeblood continued to flutter in my hand for a few seconds, then turned into an animation of 0's and 1's and disappeared.

Then I cut the other guy's neck and looted the boxes they left behind.

Apparently these two guys were very lucky. After a brief hesitation while looking at the full armor sets that almost reached level C, I took all the items into my inventory and started walking in the direction of Sofia on the map.

In the meantime, I checked the evolution of my skill and the assignable stat points I had obtained.

[ Congratulations you eliminated a player and got 50 assignable stat points ]

[ Congratulations you eliminated a player and got 50 assignable stat points ]

[ Number of remaining players 47 ]

[ Congratulations A - medusa's left eye ability has evolved to S class ]

[ Congratulations S - medusa's left eye ability evolved into SS class ]

[ SS - medusa's left eye : when you look at a person with medusa's left eye, you can restrict their movements. To restrict your opponent's movements, your intelligence stat must be at least one tenth of your opponent's magic resistance stat. If you continue to stare at the same target for 10 seconds, the target will be subject to the petrification curse. The damage you deal to petrified targets is critical and true damage. Power*50 (No cooldown) ]

Seeing the number of remaining players reduced by half in such a short time and the amount of assignable stat points I had gained, I immediately opened the map and checked where Sofia was.

I zoomed in as close as I could to the map, which looked like a satellite image, and watched the location of Sofia carefully for 10 seconds before I realized that she hadn't moved from her position.

After assigning all of my assignable stat points to the agility stat, I put on the best armor I could find and started running directly towards her.

If people gain power so quickly they are controlled by their desires and egos.

In just a few seconds I sprinted between the houses and arrived at Sofia's house.

I stopped behind a house two blocks away from her house to see how she was doing and saw her on the balcony of the house with another man.

"VICTOR it's a trap! Run!"

It wasn't hard to realize that it was a trap. So I was standing here looking for the teammate of the guy on the balcony.

But when this idiot Sofia suddenly decided to shout, and as if that wasn't enough, when she looked in my direction while shouting, the man holding Sofia turned his head in my direction.

I immediately hid behind the wall again and kept looking for his teammate.

"So your name is Viktor, young man. Why do you keep hiding there, or do you not care what happens to your girlfriend. Fine then."

A few seconds had passed since he said those words when I heard Sofia scream.

"Let me go, you son of a bitch! What the fuck are you doing! You know what happens if I tell everyone about you on the forums, don't you? Ahhh Victor run!"

I peeked out from behind the curtains of the house I had quietly entered to see what the man was doing.

The man had ripped Sofia's clothes off and was holding her hands with one hand and gripping her waist with the other.

I stood where I was for a while, waiting to see if the man would do anything else to Sofia. If he did, he would be distracted and I could use that as an opening to attack him.

But the man was apparently not that careless and kept smiling and looking in my direction.

All the while, I was secretly looking for his teammate and waiting for him to show some behavior that would expose his teammate's position. Unfortunately, my expectations were in vain and I had to attack him directly.

In order for my opponent to be permanently pinned in place, I had to keep looking at him until the petrification curse was fully activated.
