Chapter 26 - second game IX

Looking at the walls of a large building that used to be a hotel from a distance, you can see a spider-like man standing there.

At the moment, this man was quietly climbing up this huge building using a climbing hook he had obtained from one of the chests. After a long period of observation, he realized that there was a sniper hiding inside this building. Moreover, this sniper could have been the one who had killed the person that he had decided to team up with a minute after the game started.

The man was momentarily shocked to see his teammate's head explode from a bullet he couldn't see where it came from. After calming down, he realized that the person who had shot his teammate had acquired a magnificent weapon at the start of the game.

The man smiled as he hung from the window of the twelfth floor, attached his hook to the ledge in front of the window of the floor above, and started climbing again. He was close to obtaining possibly one of the greatest weapons in the game. With this in mind, the man continued climbing and when he was halfway up the length between the two floors, he heard a voice.

"It's a bit cold today, isn't it, especially for mountain climbing?"

When the man heard the slightly eerie sound and turned his head towards the source of the sound, he saw a muscular man with black hair drinking a cup of coffee while looking out of the window where he was hanging his hook. As he quickly reached for the pistol hanging around his waist, he saw the man in front of the window clicking his tongue and stroking the hook with his fingers.

"Tut-tut-tut don't you think using a gun on such a dangerous climb increases the risk?"

"Ahhahah you are so right, big brother. I'd better not disturb my big brother enjoying a cup of tea and leave slowly."

"Oh, I am so sad. I thought my little brother would at least stay long enough to eat a dessert when he came all the way here to visit me."

"Hahaha you know, big brother, it's been almost 25 days since I turned 18 and I've been defeated in all the games I've entered. These defeats have cost me almost 10 years of my lifespan. If my big brother allows me, I'm dreaming of getting into the top ten at least this once."

"Hahahaha, I see."

"Hahaha."

"Hahahahahahaha"

"Hahahaha"

"HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

"Please don't...."

--------

After eliminating one more opponent, Victor used his metaphysical vision to search for other opponents. In the meantime, he was sipping coffee made with the ingredients he found in one of the hotel rooms he entered.

According to Victor's belief, a person needs to consume at least 10 grams of caffeine a day to think clearly. This is approximately equivalent to the caffeine contained in 100-150 cups of expresso.

After exploring for a while, Victor finished exploring one of the surrounding buildings and found that there were no opposing players there. By this time he was out of coffee, so he stood up and started to prepare a new one.

First, he filled the empty cup he had just used with coffee beans. Once the cup was completely full, he took boiling water from the pot on the stove, added it to the cup, and stirred it slowly to get a dark brown mixture.

Then he sat back down in the chair he had just sat in and continued to look around, but just then a system screen suddenly appeared in front of him.

[ Number of players remaining 20 ]

[ The next safe zone is marked on your map. If you do not want to face natural hazards, please move to the next safe zone ]

Victor decided to look up on the internet later what the system meant by natural hazards and raised his left hand, thinking he wanted to open the map.

A small holographic map appeared over Victor's hand, giving him a three-dimensional visualization of the game's map. In the previous game, the map Victor had was a simple hand-drawn bird's eye view map.

Victor saw that his next safe zone was centered on a building a few buildings away, which was quite close to him.

Then, when Victor was about to close his map, he saw three different glowing dots appear on the map.

When the vector, not understanding what was happening, tried to touch the dots, a holographic text rose from the map and explained what the dot was.

[ 90 seconds remaining for the air drops to land ]

Victor remembered that a novel he had read in a previous life had included a similar airdrop.

After thinking about it for a while, Victor decided that this was a good opportunity to use the crossbow at its full potential, so he shot up his coffee in one go.

As Victor started to run towards the point where the nearest airdrop would fall, he saw two more players die at the same time.

------- Five minutes later

Victor opened the box left behind by the man who had just died and checked it for anything useful and found a pair of gloves that would complete his armor.

Moreover, the gloves he found were level B equipment, only one level lower than the shoes he had gotten from the airdrop.

[ B - chainmail gloves: recoil -90%, general defense +40]

He put the gloves on his hand and wrapped the free chains around his arm. Presumably, the chains were attached to the gloves to reduce the recoil of the sniper rifle by attaching it to his hand, but Victor didn't need them.

Victor saw that there were only three players left and started walking towards the building opposite the one where the man he had just located with his metaphysical vision was.
