'OK lets start with the roots. I seen cultivation novels that causes the body to remove impurities so I'm going to cultivate in the bathroom tub.' Grey reasoned. Heading toward the bathroom and sitting down in the tub with his clothes on the toilet lid in case impurities does expelled out Grey prepared for a possible shower. After five minutes of trying to form roots Grey couldn't sense chi to start following the manual so he asked the system about it.

'Host needs to find chi rich environment to start sensing chi as without prior feeling ambient chi is impossible to feel. Recommendation go to zoos with plenty of wildlife with minimal human intervention or forests. Or go to other like areas.'
'hmm alright zoo it is. For now lets take a shower and eat dinner.' After Grey ate he got ready for bed to sleep for the fist time in this world ready for the next day.
After morning rituals were finished Grey left for a zoo as it was Saturday he didn't have responsibilities he needed to tend to he made his way there by his car. Grey's family bought him a Mazda Mazda3 which was nice and cheap for him to move around in the city, they were a middle class family and he did graduate high school with A's and B's so his family decided it was a good graduation gift.
After driving there he paid for the entrance fee and looked for the right environment that was secluded enough for him to start making his roots. After finding a spot near the birds that never had visitors for longer than five minutes he waited till the crowd left, letting him start the sensing and after getting the feel for it he left for home as Grey knew the world he was in was dangerous he wanted to establish his strength before doing anything that would catch the attention of others.
Arriving home he started preparing his bathroom but before he could undress he heard his phone receive a call, looking at the caller id it was his sister. Answering the call he said "Hello my dear sister good morning" Grey was doing his best to act as the old one did and he was the big brother so he was naturally very annoying for her but he loves her all the same. (Sidenote this is how I receive my sister's calls is this normal?)
"Good morning my loner brother I was calling to ask if you had any plans before you start college?"
"No I don't have any big plans just going to get my self busy then prepare for life but I might not go to college the world is so much bigger than that so I'm going to explore it before I start college." 'College? In this world? It's useless I can become rich simply healing people with chi if I wanted to my a living but before that I will get powerful enough to not need human amenities I will be able to live anywhere in comfort after I get through the summer hopefully'
"You're not going to college? and who will fund this exploration I will have you know Mom and Dad will never fund this without you going to college as a basis."
"They won't need to I will."
"You? How are going to get the money?"
"I will figure that out but in the meantime what did you call for?"
"I wanted to know if you'd want to join us for a family gathering later this month?"
"Sure send me the details and I'll show up."
"Ok I'll text you it good bye and good luck with your world traveling plans."
"Good bye love you."
After hanging up the phone Grey went back to the bathroom, undressed and started the Root formation process. After five minute he could sense the chi and started manipulating it to start forming the roots after the chi entered his body he felt energized but also lots of pain his body not used pain he started flinching so he paused the process for a moment then gritted his teeth to start the process again without stopping as stopping the process could result in subpar roots and he would be damned if he didn't get the best result he could get.
After two painful hours of root cultivating Grey was a sweaty mess and he even notice a bit of yellow stuff building up on his skin not much that it could be considered a layer but definitely noticeable with the odor it released on him. After the process was done Grey was left with a fine Chi Root that would be considered prodigious if he was to compare to others as he did this with his own body and no prior experience or teacher to show him how to do it. Even with a teacher if someone was forming their Chi Roots in themselves they would need the teacher to interfere as that person would without a doubt mess up their roots resulting in less than desirable work.
But Grey doesn't know that as he has no one to compare so he thinks this is terrible work but all he could manage on such conditions. After checking his work he looked at the BS cultivation manual and started the process quickly entering the manipulation stage starting to use the chi to circulate throughout his body to cultivate but as the chi moved through his body impurities gathered around the chi being pushed around his body so he started trying to gather it and find a way to expel as much as possible throughout each circulation forming a layer around him.

When would you guys want the MC to be dropped before Tony Starks kidnap in Afghanistan or after the reveal of iron man remember I haven't specified what year or month so go ahead and choose. Perhaps after Avengers first gathering to fight Loki? Choose soon as I will just put MC before the kidnapping
P.S if you notice similarities to a certain plot with the punisher I did have a plan with that but I checked and that was 2015 and the kidnapping was 2008 that's too long into the universe's plot and I would like to have MC establish himself before Avengers but that's up to you guys.
