"If you were to ask someone, What is the weirdest or scariest thing about gravity falls? There would be an almost infinite amount of answers. Some may say, the giants or gnomes that inhabit Gravity Falls, but I disagree. The scariest thing inside Gravity Falls is a creature that believes itself to be human. A being, that tries to cling onto any sense of humanity But I digress, this isn't a story to discuss what creatures are the most...horrible, disgusting, putrid, or any other adjective you can think of.
It's a story to tell about an unfortunate man trapped inside a show that he had come to love. So, let's begin shall we?"...
The sound of faint birds chirping rang out through a dense lush forest. Each chirp bounced off tree bark, causing each chirp to repeat, making even the most sane man annoyed. These chirps repeated endlessly until an agitated grunt was heard followed by the sound of a man standing up. The man was a slender individual wearing an oversized black cloak that dangled off his body dragging on the grass. His eyes were bright blue, a sharp contrast to his sunburnt skin.
Oddly, he glanced down at his palms, spotting cuts or deep lacerations. He slowly closed his hand before speaking in a puzzled voice. " Where the hell am I? " The man's voice was so hoarse it surprised him, making him rub his throat gingerly as his eyes darted around, looking through the dense forest.
To the man's dismay, there was nothing. Only massive trees, seeing nothing and filled with confusion. He slowly started walking through the woods, leaving a trail of footprints in the soft grass. He walked aimlessly. Trying to find any sign of civilization but his journey wouldn't last long.
The man took a few more steps, his eyes hazy, before abruptly his body crashed into an invisible wall. Causing him to stumble back in pain, as he yelled out while falling to the ground. " What the hell?! " Blood drinkled down the man's face, as he stared forward his mind racing with thoughts, before he slowly stood back up, and extended his right hand forward.
Instantly his hand was shot back, causing the man to shake his hand in pain, as steam poured off his palm. He quickly grabbed his wrist, and spoke while hunched over. " I-Its some type of barrier? That's the only thing I can think of. So? What am I in the garden of Eden or something?"
The man suddenly scoffed at his own comment. Before speaking once more, " Yeah, right. I would most definitely be in hell. There's no shot, I'm in heaven or something close to that. Dale, make it to heaven? Tsk. " A grin filled with pain crept onto Dale's face. But this grin wouldn't last long, as a sudden ear-damaging roar rippled through the air, causing the tree leaves to sway.
Dale quickly snapped his head towards the noise, only to see a humanoid monster covered in thick brown hair. The monster was roughly eight feet tall. With large primate-like hands. To any human on Earth this creature would almost be completely recognisable. A famous creature of folklore.
" Bigfoot? " Said Dale with a bewildered look on his face. As soon as this monster heard its name, it let out a low audible growl. Slowly creeping forward while balling up its massive hands. Unbeknownst to Dale, the reason for Bigfoot's appearance was due to the scent of blood, which was currently slowly dripping off his face. The monster was starving, and when the smell of fresh blood swept through his nostrils it came sprinting over.
A moment of silence swept through the forest as Dale and the monster stood still glaring at each other. Sweat dripped down Dale's face, dripping off his nose, before falling through the air.
Right when this sweat droplet splashed onto the ground, the bigfoot dashed forward at lightning fast speeds, roaring out, its eyes glowing bright pure dark red. Air swept through the gaps in the monster's fingers as it swiped its massive palm at Dale's skull, the sheer size of the palm casted a shadow on Dale's face. Rapidly approaching Dale's face until suddenly, Bigfoot stopped.
Its giant hand was mere inches away from Dale's face. And yet, Dale's face showed zero signs of worry. He stared calmly into Bigfoot's eyes. Before the Bigfoot stumbled back slightly shocked its glowing red eyes turned faint. The Bigfoot stared at the motionless Dale, before it spun around and hurriedly ran away.
Dale watched as Bigfoot sprinted away, running past several trees, before a grin crept onto his face and he mumbled to himself,"You might be a folklore creature. But at the end of the day, you're still just an animal."
Dale had called Bigfoot's bluff. Making Bigfoot sprint away while believing that Dale was a far stronger creature than he truly was. But fake confidence can only last so long. Quickly, Dale fell on his back with sweat pouring down his face. Even though it didn't seem like it. Dale was terrified. His heart was racing, adrenaline soaring through his veins.
He took several breaths trying to calm his racing heart. While staring up at the pretty blue sky, the sun was about to set soon, roughly, there are two hours remaining before nightfall. Knowing this, Dale pushed himself off the ground and stood back up on his feet.
" Follow the barrier. Kinda like a river. If I follow the barrier, it should eventually lead to something. Or at least I hope it will...for my sake."
When Dale saw Bigfoot, his mind was storming with thoughts of different types of monsters that could live in this forest. Fearing what night could bring, Dale slowly began to walk, following the barrier's edge
He walked. And walked. And walked. For what felt like decades. His feet turned swollen, covered in tiny cuts. He stepped barefoot on pebbles, sharp blades of grass. His feet were on fire. To him, it felt like he was walking through magma itself. And yet, Dale didn't stop. Instead, he kept on walking and walking until he finally noticed something.
"The trees? Their clearing?" Dale murmured. His heart was filled with hope, but...this hope wouldn't last long. The trees hadn't cleared in the slightest. Instead, Dale took a few more steps before reaching a massive cliff. Which dropped hundreds of feet. He stared down this cliff his eyes emotionless, before dilating in disgust. He had walked for hours, and yet. There was nothing to greet him, except a beautiful orange sky. Dale couldn't help but sigh heftily, sitting down watching the sunset.
" Well...At least I have something pretty to look at- "
Before Dale could finish his sentence, he saw something. A flash of light, quickly he snapped his eyes to it, seeing a street sign stuck outside a cliff. Only two bold words were on the street sign. The words. " Gravity Falls. "...
