Class started, after a few minutes in. The teacher entered, with a stern look on his face which made the classrom silent. i wondered, how strict is he? we used to greet the teacher once they enter the classroom, but here it seemed different, like no one was bothered by him and remained silent. The teacher kept his book on the desk, and faced us, adjusting his glasses and resting his hands on the table.
he spoke up first, "welcome, students. i'm pretty sure you're curious about this academy." everyone remained nonchalent, while some remained puzzled. they all nodded, including me of course. The teacher raised his hand up and removed the chairs, without any touch. The whole class was startled and fell down. i mirrored everyone's reactions as well, but got on my feet sooner by holding the table and standing up. i gave a look at the teacher, almost telling 'was it necessary?' in a silent manner.
The teacher didn't react or felt anything for the falling students, as each got on their feets one by one. there was a fresh rose flower on the table, something which wasn't there a while ago. we stared at the rose, the colour being vibrantly pure and had driplets, indicating it was treated to its finest and set beforth us. then our eyes gazed towards the teacher, one of them questioned, "how is this possible, while you're in the same position?"
The teacher didn't respond as well, being stern as ever. but he instructed, "the rose will detect your level of soul energy. it can give out various colours, based on your level. if the rose remains red, you're clearly worthless for anything. if the rose varies from orange to purple, your energy is fitted for standard souls." i listened the instructions carefully, and looked at the rose again. i couldn't lay my eyes off it, it was young and beautiful. i don't think i have felt anything for a plant before.
"pick the rose up and show your true colours," the teacher responded. without wasting a second, each of them held the flower up and gripped it firmly. some of them had colours like yellow, blue, white and violet. it felt astonishing to look at. i snapped out and held my rose as well. something was off. i looked at the rose again. it started to sag a bit. the colour kept getting darker and darker. My rose withered.
everyone turned to me and saw the unusual change in my rose, some of them were in awe, while a few were shocked. The teacher came upto me, seeing the withered rose. he extended his hand, asking to give him the rose. i handed it over to him without wasting a second. He examined it, and spoke out, "come with me." i stood there for sometime, and followed him. the classroom watched me as i go, with an envious look on their faces.
I followed the teacher into a dark hallway. i looked around, it was the same hallway i came through when i was looking for my class allotment. "it's silent during class hours..." i muttered. the teacher caught a portion of my sentence and stopped walking, turning to me and asking, "did you say anything?" i got a bit tensed and shaked my head, "no, i didn't. please keep walking." i replied. i had a feeling my reply would have been rude or disgraceful, and rubbed my head a bit, feeling quite guilty.
The teacher stood in front of the door and opened it. the room was quite large, where a person in a chair was beforth me. the person was wearing a dark robe, which i couldn't recognise him due to how dark the room is. "please step in front of the circle." the man spoke out. i snapped a bit from my thoughts again, and looked on the floor. there was a circle, it looked like a pentacle, a star in the middle around a circle with various mantra-like symbols. i only seen them in fictional movies, and was a bit thrilled to see one in front of my eyes.
i stepped into the pentacle, and was given the same rose that was withered. "pluck the petals and keep them in your hand. remove your eyepatch," A man under the shadows ordered. i sighed a bit, i was clearly reluctant to do anything relating with my eyepatch. i removed it anyway, and flung it to the side where it was easy to pick up. my left pupil was luminescent in the dark room, a small ounce of light emitting behind my hair. i turned my gaze to the withered rose petals in my hand, before shifting my sight to the man in the robe.
"throw the petals above you." he ordered again. my gaze shifted back to my hand with the petals. I threw the petals above my head. a sudden glow emitted out from the pentacle, including the petals.
my left eye started to hurt like a stab in the knife. i was almost intolerant to pain, and cried. i was still standing and crying in pain, and my vision was completely black. i could hear my constant cries faintly, and heard a familiar voice, "...hide" it was faint. i tried to look, and opened my eyes a bit. i realized i blacked out. someone was holding me by my head. my vision was still blurry from intolerance, so i couldn't see the person clearly. a few moments later, i get to see a bit clearer. A person was looking at me, he had the same hair as me, and his voice was a bit more childish than mine. i rubbed my eyes and got up a bit. then i examined the person with a better view.
i widened my eyes, moreover i was shocked. i had a twin brother, kiyoshi, who was dead in an car accident. he was alive in front of me now. i reached my hand out to his face. it felt rough, and there were minor cracks in his body from being in a coffin for too long. i held his hand for sometime, and cried in happiness. it was a feeling i craved for a long time. kiyoshi smiled at me, the same smile he used to give whenever i felt down during his time alive. i hugged him, like a child who never wanted to let go of his parents.
i never felt such happiness in a long time, i must say. i even felt a good feeling describing this happiness which a sacred amount of people would have. my head was resting on his shoulder, and i looked at the teacher and the man, who's expressions haven't changed at all.
