Chapter 16 - "Chapter 16: Choosing martial Skills"

Raeed pondered for a while, then set aside the mystery. He was still weak anyway, but it seemed this skill was meant for him. Without the Celestial Bead to control it, the tyrannical power would have shattered his Dan Tian, and it would have also destroyed his body if not for his special physical fitness.

"… What did my father say? Ah, the Chaos Body. I need to choose some combat skills and train with them so I can use my power correctly…"

Martial arts were divided into levels from lowest to highest: Yellow Level, Human Level, Earth Level, and Heaven Level. Each level was further divided into Primary, Intermediate, and Advanced. As for the Immortal Level, he had only heard of it in his memories.

Raeed sat down and began searching for combat skills suitable for his current level. He had already decided that he needed a movement skill to save his life and a fist skill to harness his tyrannical body strength.

The movement skill he chose was called "Shadow Step." It was an Advanced Yellow Level skill that channels energy through the meridians of the feet in a specific way and then moves the legs in a precise rhythm, creating shadows during rapid movement. It was highly effective for evasion and deception, useful for escaping or misleading enemies during an attack.

The second skill he chose was a fist technique called "Mountain Shatter Fist." It was an imposing name but not entirely exaggerated. It was also an Advanced Yellow Level skill. It combines the power of the body with Qi to create vibrations in the energy surrounding the fist, shattering the opponent's bones.

"… Alright, I've chosen the skills. Let's start training with them in combat. But those damned pills consumed the monsters here. I need to go to the Devil's Forest…"

Raeed told himself. He looked around and saw that only the smell of beasts remained; they had been completely devoured.

Raeed headed to the Devil's Forest, which was vast and unknown in size to anyone in the Falcon Kingdom, as well as the terrifying monsters deep within it.

The Devil's Forest separates the Falcon Kingdom from the demonic beasts that frequently invade human lands.

"My mother once said that the Devil's Forest passes through many large cities, but no one dares to invade it… It seems I'll need to explore this forest in the future."

Although the Devil's Forest is very dangerous, the monsters at this level do not possess spiritual intelligence—they are driven solely by the instinct to devour food.

Some might think this is harsh, but humans also hunt them for their demonic cores. Every part of their bodies is highly valuable in alchemy, selling for good prices.

This is the cycle of cause and effect that sustains life. Everything has a reason; nothing is created aimlessly or for amusement. Everything has its purpose and complements the life of something else, while another element completes their lives together.

It's a cycle of life where everything complements each other. If the balance is disrupted, even slightly, chaos ensues.

In reality, monsters train just like humans, but at a much slower rate. However, they are born with strong bodies and long lifespans; otherwise, they would not have time to train.

...

Raeed arrived at the Devil's Forest and saw many men and women entering in groups to hunt demons. As Raeed was about to enter, a man approached and bumped into him. Raeed noticed a mocking smile on the man's face and thought to himself:

"It looks like we won't pass easily… Should I kill the chicken to scare the monkey?"

Sure enough, the man arrogantly said:

"…. Where did this kid come from? Dare you dirty my clothes? Don't you know who I am? If you don't want to die, compensate me with a hundred gold coins…"

Raeed's face grew cold, and a terrifying killing intent emanated from him. He stared at the man without saying a word. In the next moment, the man broke into a cold sweat, felt a chill down his spine, and then knelt on the ground, gasping.

"Hmph, trash who can't withstand such weak killing intent… Don't mess with me…"

Raeed said, then entered the forest. The place grew quiet for a moment as people looked at the kneeling man with astonishment. They then smiled mockingly and spoke among themselves, pointing at him. The man's face turned ugly, and he angrily said:

"… Just wait, you little bastard. I'll take revenge. I'll have the venomous snake mercenaries slaughter your entire family…"

"Oh no, this kid is in trouble. That group of mercenaries is ruthless, and their leader, who is at the First Level of Blood Refinement, is extremely strong and merciless…"

The people looked at the place where Raeed had left and expressed their sympathy.
