"Hurry up! Do you want to go against my will?" Thanos roared, his voice laced with fury. He couldn't comprehend the strange sensations overtaking him, the intrusive thoughts that made him say things that contradicted his nature.
Apologize? My fault? My heart hurts? Thanos shook his head in disbelief. How could he, the Mad Titan, be wrong? He had no reason to apologize; everything he did was justified. His conscience was clear, and the idea of remorse was foreign to him.
The Chitauri commander, shaken by Thanos's outburst, hesitated before pressing the button that would unleash the particle cannon. The next moment, Thanos's tears flowed freely, his voice cracking with emotion, "No! How can you do this? It's all my fault, and yet you killed someone."
The commander, baffled by Thanos's behavior, merely followed orders, pressing the launch button before squatting down, overwhelmed by the sight of the great Thanos in tears. It was a first for him, and strangely, it was moving.
The particle cannon fired, a bright starlight shooting toward Xu Mo. The Blue-Eyes White Dragon prepared to counter with its Burst Stream of Destruction, but Xu Mo stopped it. "Blue-Eyes White Dragon, don't turn around. Fly straight; the Anywhere Door is that way," Xu Mo commanded, pointing towards their escape route.
As the dragon soared, Xu Mo turned to face the incoming beam. The power of the particle cannon was akin to a nuclear bomb, something even the Blue-Eyes White Dragon couldn't counter. They needed a different solution.
"Kamui!" Xu Mo activated his Sharingan's Mangekyō ability, a gift of evolution spurred by his intense battle. The black holes of the Kamui swirled, attempting to absorb the incoming attack. Blood trickled from Xu Mo's eye, the strain evident as his energy reserves depleted. The cannon's force was immense, bending space around it as the Kamui struggled to contain the blast.
Despite the effort, part of the particle cannon's energy slipped through, grazing the Blue-Eyes White Dragon's flank. But it was enough. The dragon, with a flap of its massive wings, avoided a direct hit and continued towards the ground.
Exhausted, Xu Mo leaped off the dragon, barely able to stand as pain wracked his body. He leaned against the dragon's leg, struggling to stay upright. The Anywhere Door shimmered before him, a gateway to safety, contrasting with the chaos of their surroundings.
"Hey loudly," the Blue-Eyes White Dragon whimpered softly, sensing Xu Mo's distress. With every step towards the door, Xu Mo felt the weight of his injuries. He could barely lift his limbs, each movement a struggle. As he reached the threshold, the warship loomed closer, its weapons targeting the dragon.
Thanos, aboard the warship, stared at the scene, tears still streaming down his face. The commander, who had witnessed his breakdown, lay dead, his neck snapped for seeing what he shouldn't have.
"Is this a space portal? Does he have the Space Stone?" Thanos muttered, confused and tormented. He couldn't let Xu Mo escape, yet part of him was wracked with guilt and self-loathing. His hands trembled as he pressed the launch button again, launching another particle beam. "No! I must redeem my sins. Why commit them knowing they're wrong?" His voice warbled between madness and remorse, a conflict tearing at his very soul.
As the beam fired, Xu Mo stumbled through the Anywhere Door, escaping just as the particle cannon struck the ground where he stood moments before. A mushroom cloud rose, the ground searing into lava, but Xu Mo was gone.
Thanos stood in stunned silence. He had missed his chance. "He escaped," he muttered, half in disbelief, half in reluctant relief. "It's over... it's okay," he murmured, disgusted by the compassion in his voice. He slapped his own face, trying to shake off the strange emotions, but only managed to dislodge a tiny bug from his nose. As it slipped into the other nostril, Thanos slapped himself again, desperate to rid himself of this foreign influence.
Inside the console room, Xu Mo's middle finger emerged from the Kamui dimension, visible on the ultra-clear screen. Thanos's eyes widened in rage and humiliation. "Kakarot, I'm going to kill you!" he bellowed, his voice cracking with desperation.
"No! The more you kill, the more sins you accumulate. You should seek forgiveness and make amends," Thanos's voice betrayed him, slipping back into remorse.
"Shut up!" he screamed, slapping himself repeatedly in a futile attempt to regain control.
Meanwhile, Xu Mo, exhausted, closed the Anywhere Door. He sat on the sandy ground, his vision blurring. He could hear distant voices, faint and concerned, as darkness overtook him. The last thing he heard was Gali's worried tone, "Xu Mo, why does your room keep banging? Is something wrong?" Then, silence.
In Asgard, Heimdall, ever watchful, witnessed the events from afar. His golden eyes widened in shock as he observed the cosmic disturbance. Without a moment's hesitation, he rushed towards the palace, leaving Loki behind, who watched with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
