Chapter 53 - Chapter 52 - A Bloody Encounter

Xu Mo walked through the streets of Hell's Kitchen, carrying three bags of breakfast. As he neared his residence, he noticed the streets becoming quieter and more desolate. He set the bags down and surveyed his surroundings with a smile.

"Come out, don't hide," Xu Mo called out.

Suddenly, a black-blade axe whizzed through the air from around a corner, spinning rapidly. Xu Mo's reflexes were quick as he caught the handle of the axe at an unusual angle.

"Gangsters?" Xu Mo sneered. Since arriving in the Marvel Universe, he had not encountered any significant trouble from supervillains. It seemed like this was a simple gang issue.

Several young men, dressed in typical gangster attire and armed with weapons, approached menacingly. Unlike the typical gang style, they seemed determined and ruthless. Xu Mo's expression hardened.

"If you're here to die, then let's get this over with," he said coldly.

Xu Mo swung the axe with precision, releasing it with incredible force. The axe spun through the air with a sharp whine, moving like a disc as it flew straight toward the gangsters.

The axe cleaved through the air, severing heads in an instant. The men's expressions of rage turned to shock as they fell, their heads rolling away.

The axe returned to Xu Mo's hand, and he wiped the blood from the blade with a smile.

"Dead? Is this what you expected?" he taunted.

The surviving gangsters were stunned, unable to comprehend the swift and brutal attack. One of them gathered his courage and shouted, "He's just one person! Let's take him down together!"

The remaining thugs charged at Xu Mo, but their advance was cut short when another thug was blasted into the wall, blood and debris scattering.

"He's a mutant! He's a monster!" the remaining thugs screamed in terror.

In a panic, they scattered in different directions, trying to escape. Xu Mo shook his head, summoning three clones using the Shadow Clone Technique without needing any hand seals. The clones quickly pursued and eliminated the fleeing gangsters.

"Just cutting off hands—what a strange task," Xu Mo mused as he dealt with the thugs. The instructions seemed odd, and he wondered about the motives behind the hit.

He turned to one of his clones and said, "Go and handle the rest."

The clone nodded and disappeared down the street.

In a nearby hideout, Jin Biao, a chubby white man, handed over a check to a man named Edward, who was sitting with Bane. They were discussing the recent troubles and Xu Mo's rise in popularity.

"Edward, Bane, don't worry. My people are gone," Jin Biao said with a grin, taking the check and admiring the amount written on it.

"That's good. It's tough out there with this kid's comics being so popular," Edward remarked, while Bane added a mocking comment about Xu Mo's work.

Suddenly, a voice emerged from the shadows. "Looks like someone is here."

The three men turned to see a young man stepping out from the darkness.

"He's Xu Mo!" Edward exclaimed, his face paling.
