Chapter 29 - Chapter 28 - Xu Mo's Clash with the Underworld

Boom!

The sonic boom resonated through the streets, a violent shockwave sweeping in all directions and washing over the approaching gangsters.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

The scream echoed as the gangsters fled, crashing into the street.

"Fire!"

A leader decisively ordered an assault with heavy weaponry, including shotguns and rocket launchers. The gang members unleashed a barrage of bullets, the thick smoke from their guns filling the air as the bullets gleamed under the dusk light.

"Jia Li, put up a shield or I'll need to buy new clothes," Xu Mo said, raising an eyebrow and speaking quietly to Jia Li.

With his level 2 toughness, Xu Mo could withstand rocket bombardments unscathed, but even his nearly indestructible clothes would eventually be ruined. Jia Li, munching on barbecue, lowered her head as purple light flashed, raising a protective shield in front of them.

The metal bullets hit the shield, rippling across its surface without any damage.

"Rocket missile!"

Boom!

A missile exploded against the shield, sending a cloud of smoke into the air, obscuring the scene.

Xu Mo threw several light wave balls into the smoke, creating a cacophony of wailing and explosions. The noise drew the attention of Daredevil and Bullseye, who were locked in combat. The two separated, watching the dissipating smoke with cautious eyes.

Bullseye's gaze turned red with shock as he surveyed the carnage. The street was littered with dismembered bodies and blood, as if it had been struck by a bomb.

"What the hell is going on?" Bullseye demanded angrily.

Daredevil, with his heightened senses, could discern the destruction even through the smoke. He knew that powerful energies had caused the carnage.

"If you're smart, you'll know what to do," Xu Mo said calmly, stepping forward with a commanding presence.

Bullseye's heart raced with fear as he realized that Xu Mo was likely the source of the destruction. He felt his nerves fray, even though he tried to maintain his bravado.

"Don't get too proud, kid. This is Jin Ning's territory. Even if you're strong, you're still an ant compared to the power of the underworld empire."

Bullseye's bravado seemed to grow as he spoke, though his face betrayed his fear. Despite his reputation as the top assassin for the Golden Underworld, the young man's display of power unnerved him.

"You clearly don't understand the difference in our levels," Xu Mo replied coolly.

Bullseye, though frightened, decided to fight back. He threw a sharp knife with deadly precision, aiming for Xu Mo's forehead. The knife's tip struck Xu Mo but was bent and crumpled by his unyielding skin.

"This little thing can't hurt me," Xu Mo said, his tone flat but revealing his rising anger. Jia Li, still eating her barbecue, observed quietly.

Bullseye, accustomed to using objects as lethal weapons from great distances, was stunned to see his best efforts nullified at close range.

Xu Mo smiled slightly. "Seems like you don't have any more tricks up your sleeve. Now it's my turn."

Xu Mo picked up one of Bullseye's thrown knives and examined it. Before Bullseye could react, a white spot appeared in his vision, and he felt an icy coldness envelop him as he lost consciousness. The knife struck him squarely in the forehead, creating a perfect hole that matched the target symbol on his forehead.

"Prick—"

The sound of the knife cutting through the air was the last thing Bullseye heard before he collapsed, lifeless.

Daredevil, despite his blindness, sensed the aftermath of the battle and knew the outcome even without seeing it. The level of power displayed was beyond his understanding.

Xu Mo glanced at Daredevil, offering a kind smile. "Thanks for your help earlier."

Xu Mo was straightforward. If someone tried to befriend him, he would reciprocate; but if they sought to harm him, they would face dire consequences.

"Jin Ning will come after you. His dark empire covers all of New York," Daredevil warned.

"That's not something you need to worry about. Goodbye," Xu Mo said, turning with Jia Li and disappearing into the dim street.

Daredevil, uncertain of how to describe Xu Mo or his abilities, was left contemplating the mysterious young man's power and his own inadequacies.

A short while later, as Daredevil inspected Bullseye's body for useful information, a burly man in a black skull T-shirt arrived and landed beside him.

"Did you take him out, Matt?" the newcomer asked, surveying the bloody scene.

"No, it was a teenager," Daredevil replied, feeling bitter about his own inadequacy compared to the young man's power.

Frank Castle, known as the Punisher, examined a wound on his arm. "I got cut by something, but I still don't know what happened."

Daredevil, still processing the situation, pointed to Bullseye's forehead. "I wanted you to see how he died."

"It seems he was unlucky," Frank said, noting the grim fate of the assassin.

As Daredevil continued to search the area, he was left pondering the nature of the powerful young man he had just encountered, and the ominous future that awaited them all.
