Chapter 16 - The wall inside Izana's mind

As Kaori, Shinwa, and Ellen entered the UA classroom, their presence caused a stir among the students. Their aura and beauty left everyone in awe, and curiosity buzzed through the room.

Shinso, who was introducing them, began with Kaori.

Shinso: "First up, we have Kaori Satoru, the daughter of Gojo Satoru, the No. 1 hero of America. Her Quirk is *Infinity and 8 Eyes*, which grants her immense power and exceptional sensory abilities."

The students whispered among themselves, clearly impressed by her credentials and the mention of her father's status.

Shinso continued with Shinwa.

Shinso: "Next is Shinwa Jinyoung, daughter of Daniel Park, the No. 1 hero of South Korea. Her Quirk, *Space Isolation*, allows her to create and manipulate isolated spaces, making her a formidable opponent."

The room buzzed with admiration for Shinwa's Quirk, understanding its strategic importance.

Finally, Shinso introduced Ellen.

Shinso: "And last but not least, Ellen Azaria, the daughter of Diego Azaria, the No. 1 hero of Russia and royalty of Russia. Her Quirk is *Gate of Heavens*, a powerful ability that allows her to control and harness divine energy."

As Ellen, Kaori, and Shinwa entered the class, they scanned the room but couldn't spot Ken and Shoya. They settled into their seats, trying to blend in. Just then, **Ken** and Shoya entered the classroom, their nonchalant demeanor evident as they casually made their way to their seats.

Ken: "03, do you think anything could be interesting today?"

Shoya: "We shall see, 02. Anyway, let's go to our seats."

Their indifferent attitude and lack of recognition toward their new classmates didn't go unnoticed.

Shinso began the lesson on war ethics, looking to engage the class with a fundamental question.

Shinso: "What's the main component you need to know about war?"

Katsu, displaying her usual arrogance, quickly responded.

Katsu: "Huh... does it even matter? I'm the strongest, and I can beat anyone."

Her words caught Ken's attention. He looked at her with an annoyed expression and replied.

Ken: "Strongest in what? Big talks?"

As he spoke, Ken removed his black glasses, revealing his devilish eyes that bore into Katsu.

Ken: "In battle, what's important is knowing the enemy's weakness and having full trust in your skills."

Katsu glared back at Ken, her anger flaring.

Katsu: "You think you can talk to me like that? You don't even remember who you are!"

Ken: "Remembering who I am doesn't change the truth. Overconfidence will get you killed."

Shoya watched the exchange, leaning back in his chair with a smirk.

Shoya: "Calm down, both of you. This isn't the time or place."

Shinso intervened, his voice firm.

Shinso: "Enough. This is not the way to discuss war ethics. Katsu, you need to understand that brute strength isn't everything. Ken has a point about understanding weaknesses and skills."

Kaori, Shinwa, and Ellen exchanged glances, sensing the undercurrents of the conversation.

Kaori leaned over to Shinwa and whispered.

Kaori: "Seems like there's more history here than we know."

Shinwa: "Definitely. But we need to stay focused. We're here for a reason."

Ellen: "Agreed. Let's just hope they can keep it together."

Shinso continued the lesson, trying to redirect the class's attention.

Shinso: "The key component of war ethics is understanding the bigger picture. It's not just about individual strength, but strategy, teamwork, and knowing your enemy. Those who fail to see this often pay the price."

Shinso looked at Shoya and Ken and asked them, "02 and 03, despite having so much power that can rival the world's top 10 heroes, what are your thoughts about your pasts?"

Ken replied nonchalantly, "Well, I don't really know what kind of person I was, and to be honest, I don't really care."

Hearing this, Shinwa was taken aback.

Shoya added, "Same for me. I just want to fight strong opponents. To be honest, none of the students here have real battle experience, but I believe there are four people who can give us a real challenge."

Shinso, curious, asked, "Who are those four?"

Ken answered, "Kaori Satoru, Shinwa Jinyoung, Ellen Azaria, and as for the fourth person..."

Ken looked at Izana and said, "As for the 4th one. It will be a secret until he awakens his dormant power."

Everyone was puzzled, unable to understand what he was talking about.

Out of curiosity, Shinso asked, "Okay, if you both don't mind, can you tell us about 01?"

Everyone looked at them, expecting something.

Ken replied, "Well, 01 is mysterious and doesn't really care about who his opponent is, but that's what makes him special. He is polite and always knows what he is doing."

Shoya added, "And the best part is, he is a great fighter even with all the restrictions on himself."

After class was over, Izana approached Ken and Shoya asking for help.

Ken said, "Well, I'm not interested in helping you."

Shoya added, "Why should we? It's not our problem. You should figure this out on your own."

Izana was taken aback by their responses. As he reflected on their words, he realized that they were echoing the same things he used to say when they asked for help in the past while being bullied.

After the conversation with Ken and Shoya, Izana walked away, feeling a mix of confusion and hurt. He headed to a quiet corner of the UA grounds to clear his mind.

As he sat there, Ken approached him with a calm demeanor.

Ken: "You know, you can find your own path. Just trust yourself."

Izana looked up, surprised by Ken's unexpected advice.

Izana: "But... how can I? It feels like everything I do ends up being a failure."

Ken: "It's not about being perfect. It's about learning and growing. You have to believe in your own strength, even if others don't."

Shoya joined them, adding, "Yeah, we didn't have the best past either. We were pushed down, but we learned to fight back. Just because you didn't help us back then doesn't mean you can't change now."

After Ken and Shoya left, Izana sat alone in the quiet corner, overwhelmed by a flood of emotions. Tears streamed down his face as he sobbed quietly.

Izana (to himself): "I was such a coward. I could have stood up for them... for myself... but I didn't."

He recalled the times when he had seen Ken and Shoya being bullied and how he had done nothing to help them, feeling paralyzed by fear. Now, even without their memories of the past, they had extended a hand to him, offering support and advice without any hesitation.

Izana (crying): "They helped me, even though they don't remember the pain I caused them... Why am I so weak?"

He clutched his fists, trying to push through the regret and self-doubt. The realization that Ken and Shoya, despite their lost memories and the trials they faced, had helped him unconditionally struck him deeply.

Izana: "I need to change. I need to be stronger. I can't keep hiding from my fears."
