Su Lie stared at his sister, normally she would act like he was irrelevant but now she actually cared about him.
Something was wrong here.
"I thought you said you didn't care if I awakened the most useless element."
Yesterday he had done something that made her mad, what did he do? He told her that when he became a cultivator he would make sure she toiled through sweat and bones.
She obviously got angry since she wanted things easy in life."
"Big brother, you are being evil again." His sister Yao Fei said.
Su Lie took a breath in.
"Go ask mom and dad, you already know the answer so I won't bother." Saying that Su Lie left the living room.
He went outside, the cool evening breeze blew against his face providing a relaxing experience.
He had already assimilated the techniques so it would be a shame if he did not try it out, he had no experience of the pain he felt when he assimilated the techniques but he felt he would be himself injustice if he didn't start training now.
He calmed himself, all the feelings whether good or bad were channeled out. What was left was a slight feeling of oneness with the soul and mind.
He moved.
He took a dash forward aiming at the air and landing a blow, he followed with another blow below the chest. He imagined training against a dummy, whom he could practice his martial arts with. He took another step forward but noticed something, on the ground there was water.
'Morning dew? Impossible, its evening.'
He thought about his father, the old man has been very serious about breaking through for a while even though he had been stuck at that bottleneck for 3 years.
He would enter the fourth mortal stage by next month if he kept up the training.
If his old man was serious about training he would have been halfway through the fourth mortal stage by now, he had spent so much time on women rather than cultivation when he was younger that he avoided speaking about his youth to his children.
He had awakened the water attribute so his parents expected that he would be as calm and serene as a flowing river, but he was as hot-blooded and temperamental as a volcano!
In English, they call people like him an irony...
But keeping that aside the liquid on the ground was his sweat. He probably pushed his body to the limits and cultivated until evening, the poor fella, war gets the best of us most times.
Shrugging those thoughts off he continued practicing his martial arts, punch after punch, kick after kick, combo after combo he continued training he felt like he was getting the hang of this. His bone structure had been rearranged so that meant that even if his movements weren't 'forced' anymore, it would still be more like adjusting to a robotic leg.
"Haa, haa, haa, it seems like I'm getting the hang of it. Through long breaths Su Lie managed to get the words out.
His goal was to test out both of his techniques but he was so exhausted that using one even without Qi was his limit.
Suddenly, he darted forward and gave his imaginary opponent a strong attack on his ribs, he then brought his elbow down and smashed it again. The power behind that elbow was enough to break the ribs, he side-stepped to the back of his opponent, putting all of his power behind his palm he struck it on his back.
He then fell down, exhaustion warped around his body like it was giving him a hug. His breathing was already ragged but he found it a bit harder to breath.
Su Lie felt the energy around him overflowing his environment, however he did nothing about that and went into the house, he felt exhausted and decided to bathe just before dinner was ready.
Meanwhile, Yao Fe watched his movements from the window confused.
"Since when did big brother start shadowboxing?" She wondered.
"It's probably because he awakened a ruthless element, teacher said today that one's element played a deciding factor in their behavior.
Su Lie entered the bathroom again, washing his body thoroughly. As he bathed he thought about cultivation manuals. Those where the very essence in which cultivation was formed around, in school you weren't taught much about cultivation about the basics.
But they devoted a full subject to the history of the greatest cultivators and the creator of the manuals they used. The creators where legends in the field, the darkest parts where hidden, the history classes only taught about the life story of the cultivators.
The class evaluated the creator of the cultivation manual based on their contribution to the immortal cultivators of the continent. It was all about immortals, even the immortals of the other continents were revered.
But he got the cultivation manual system, shouldn't he be able to grow, not only does it offer him cultivation techniques it also offers cultivation manuals, but all of them are expensive and he isn't sure he could afford the low-grade easily but.
He could finally be somebody important, he could be known as the greatest immortal to walk all the worlds. The people whom the immortals use their cultivation manuals are as revered as the sun.
If he could create his own cultivation manuals and be the greatest not only would the continent regard him as the greatest.. the whole world would.
[Host had received a mission, does Host accept it? Y/N]
Unlike before when his brain took minutes before he could understand the words the system displayed now he could understand everything immediately.
'Yes.'
[Create a mid-grade cultivation manual for the fire and lightning element.
Requirements: Undergo self-exploration.
Rewards: A mid-grade cultivation manual for fire and lightning element.
Time Limit: 5 days.]
Su Lie read through the contents of the mission the system gave him and smiled, who knew he would get lucky enough to get a mission this early.
However he furrowed his brows after discovering something.
"There are no points for rewards after I finish this mission, why is that?" He muttered,
[Points are given after a good evaluation of the host's skills and capabilities, only a dog needs to be given a treat to learn a trick. The system does not train dogs!]
"This system got no respect for a host."
Leaving that aside he finished his bath and left his previously worn clothes, changing to a pair of new clothes.
He noticed a pleasant aroma coming from the dining room area and found himself in his seat, with chopsticks and waiting for food to be served.
Soon enough his father finished his cultivation and came downstairs he was wearing a new pair of clothes and he radiated kindness.
He completely ignored Su Lie and went straight for the little girl, he started asking her questions about her day.
His mother came in too with 4 plates, one for each. Su Lie ate in silence as usual while the rest of his family kept on talking.
He had read somewhere that talking while eating could result in choking, he finished quickly, washed his dish and went to his room.
Apparently his parents were giving him the silent treatment to make him feel bad, however he couldn't care less. He cared about his family but what they were doing were childish in his eyes, he had three families now so giving someone or getting the silent treatment wasn't a big deal to him.
They didn't want to talk, they wouldn't talk.
Furthermore, Su Lie had more pressing matters to think about, the resources the library had on cultivation manuals were small at best, they wouldn't be enough for him to get enough information on how to start creating one.
Also, he needed to reach at least the 3rd rank before he could change cultivation manuals.
He was already sure that Jiang Mei had at least little backing so she would have to information necessary for someone whom was looking to acquire information.
And what better way to do that than to create connections, it would at least make sure he had her as a friend and a sparring partner. By now, she would have already started cultivating with at least a mid-grade ice element cultivation manual.
"Tomorrow, I'll make some connections." Su Lie declared before falling asleep, excited for the day ahead.
