The cannon appeared in front of Max out of thin air with an almost deafening thrum. Its sheer weight caused the floor of the mountain house to creak and break before it shifted slightly to the right, tearing through the wall with a splintering crash.
Max stood frozen for a moment, staring at the hulking weapon before him.
The cannon was a masterpiece of destruction, its six-meter height loomed menacingly, a base forged from twisted, blackish-green metal that pulsed faintly as if alive.
The barrel, sleek and gleaming with a dark, crystalline finish, had intricate Kraxtal weaving patterns carved along its length, glowing faintly blue. The sight of it radiated an aura of power and foreboding.
Lucy hovered around the cannon, her wings fluttering softly as she inspected it curiously. 'What is it?' she chimed telepathically, tilting her head in fascination.
Max didn't immediately answer, his gaze locked on the weapon.
"Simulator scan."
[Name : Blood-Weaver Radiation Cannon :
-Type: B++ Equipment
-Firepower: B++
Shots release an explosion followed by a (50m radius) radiation surge.
-Range: Over 9,000 kilometers.
-Loaded Shots: 4 preloaded shots.
-Skill: "Corrosion Pulse": The cannon leaves a residual field of corrosive radiation in the explosion's aftermath, capable of disintegrating unprotected structures and weakening living beings over time.
-Limitations:
-10 minutes to accumulate pressure before firing.
-You must forge the shots yourself, it requires 500 liters of mutated creature's blood, and a radiation rich area, takes 60 days of constant forging to finish one shot.
...
Max whistled low. "Well, that's... a lot, 9km wow" he muttered, moving to touch the cold, smooth surface of the cannon. Its weight was evident even without testing it further. "You sure pulled off a miracle in there, Lucy, even if you don't remember."
Lucy flew up to the barrel, inspecting the glowing Kraxtal lines with wide eyes. 'Did I make this?' she asked, her tone more amused than surprised.
Max gave a dry chuckle. "Technically, yes. You spent almost a thousand years perfecting it. Don't ask me how, it seems I accidentally raised a genius weapon maker."
Lucy puffed out her chest in mock pride, pretending to take credit for the weapon she didn't recall building.
The crows, meanwhile, flitted about the room, cautiously circling the cannon. Their movements were quieter than usual, almost as if they could sense its danger.
Max tapped one of his empty space rings and, after a brief pulse of energy, stored the cannon within it. The mountain house suddenly felt much roomier without the looming metal giant.
.....
With the cannon safely tucked away, Max leaned against the desk and pulled out his superphone. "AI," he said, "make me something that Lucy would enjoy with the focus being on the space cube. Use full computational power."
The phone's interface lit up with an affirmative tone.
[Affirmative. Processing request.]
Max folded his arms, glancing at Lucy as she perched nearby. She hummed softly, swinging her legs back and forth in the air as she watched the crows settle near the window.
[Done. Would you like to check it?]
"Just show me what it is about," Max replied.
The screen displayed a brief summary:
[Title: "Reflections of Eternity" :
Genre: Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi
Synopsis: The series follows multiple characters navigating their intertwined lives, facing challenges, and uncovering secrets. The story unfolds with twists and emotional depth, revealing in the end that their entire lives take place within a space cube, a creation of unknown origin.]
Max raised an eyebrow, nodding approvingly. "Not bad. She'll love it."
The AI responded: [Series queued and ready for viewing.]
Max linked the phone to the laptop and uploaded the series.
"Lu, come here."
Lucy flew to him titling her head.
"I just downloaded another amazing work for you to enjoy, take it as a reward.
Also if you want to watch it, then do it in your Mountain phone to keep watch over the crows."
Lucy happily turned into light as she merged with the mountain.
.....
Satisfied with his handy work Max left to his room as he began to plan ahead, his thoughts wandered.
There were one weak left before the special dungeon opens, and he was thinking about how to best make use of his time.
Studying forging was always an option, but he could do that outside of human territory as well, while he was here he had the idea of forcibly opening the human Market to himself.
His phone was more than capable of doing so, he could simply hack into a bank giving himself limitless credits, at the same time hacking into the private Networks of certain organization to give himself access to their goods, but this kind of action was bound to be discovered one way or another, and Max preferred to stay in peace for the time being while he grow slowly.
Still he wouldn't give up on the market, it's still possible to go about it in around about way.
"Ai"
[At your service.]
"call me someone."
[ affirmative please provide the number.]
"I don't have it."
[please provide their full name.]
"his name is... Ah I don't remember.".
After some time of brainstorming Max still couldn't remember the names, it always been hard for him to remember names even back on Earth.
"Well, just look for a campany that went through a kidnapping lately."
[ searching..... 193 cases found... Would like to view.].
"wow! 193 the Kidnapping business is thriving.... Ah look for fashion company."
[... 9 cases found.]
Max found his Target easily from the 9 cases and picked a name.
" Charles.. That one I kidnapped him not long ago find his name and call him."
[ malfunctioning.... calibrating..... Scanning for bugs..... Non detected...]
"huh ? what the..... Ai what's going on."
[nothing of matter, I misjudged that my program was corrupted, scan shows no problems.]
Max didn't know whether to laugh or cry, for a moment.
[ searching... Number found... Starting the call...]
....
