Max sat in the center of his new mountain house, his focus unwavering as he studied the intricate texts spread out before him with Mok and Lucy next to him.
Lucy had a dead fish like expression, begging to be released from this torture, while Mok was completely focused on the text.
Max's super phone had projected the text onto a holographic screen in mid-air, the words glowing softly.
The text was in the human language of this world, and Max understood it completely, but he still felt like he was reading gibberish looking at the text.
It wasn't the first time he had encountered something that pushed the limits of his understanding, but this… this was on an entirely different level.
He had spent the last three days studying the Kraxtal Weaving Forging Method. It was a powerful technique, one that can push the limits of any metal. It required one thing above all: any sort of mental power skill.
But Max didn't lack that, his telekinesis was one of the best obtainabl. It was an easy match for the requirements of Kraxtal Weaving, except for one detail.
The method also required an understanding of advanced mathematics and physics that Max had never encountered before. Concepts beyond Earth's established knowledge, theories that seemed to twist and bend logic itself.
The equations, the formulas, his head boiled just thinking about them. It was as if his mind were trying to process the impossible. Each formula he encountered seemed like an abstract painting that defied every rule he had ever known about the world.
"s***, and I remember Xrak calling this simple."
'give up is good!'
"Lucy, unless we make some progress, no one is allowed to get up. So stop acting like some laziness demon telling me to give up every 10 min."
Lucy felt indignant. She didn't try every 10 minutes, but every 5 minutes, she was sure because she checked the time on the screen.
"Lucy, anymore and you won't be allowed to get up until you master it completely. Look at Mok and learn from him, he didn't even comment."
Max glanced at Mok, just to feel backstabed looking at the sleeping crow.
'okay!'
Lucy was obedient, so using Max's shoulder as a bed she fell asleep immediately.
Max's mouth twitched, but he allowed them a 10 min rest, since they didn't have the same stats as him and gets exhausted faster.
.... They had spent three grueling days diving into this alien knowledge, working tirelessly to unravel the complexities of Kraxtal Weaving. At first, the texts had been incomprehensible, full of ideas that felt like gibberish. But slowly, piece by piece, things started to click. Each mental leap was like a small victory, even if it left his head aching with the effort.
He had learned to decipher the equations, understand the relationships between the physical forces, and begin to apply them, if only faintly.
He closed his eyes for a moment, pushing the throbbing headache away and focusing his mind. The room around him felt weightless as he reached inward, calling upon his telekinesis to move according to Kraxtal weaving.
As he traced through the mental diagram, a faint blue light began to form in the air before him.
A glowing ball of pure energy. It swirled, vibrating just like the ones Xrak had used when he forged Max's phone.
But Xrak's technique was far beyond what Max could achieve. Xrak had effortlessly created sixteen of those glowing orbs at once, weaving them together into complex structures. Max, on the other hand, could barely manage one.
The ball of blue light flickered uncertainly, its shape distorting for a moment as Max struggled to stabilize it. His mental focus wavered, and the ball began to shrink, its glow dimming.
"Stay," Max muttered under his breath, willing the energy to remain intact.
The ball flickered again, its edges shimmering, before finally stabilizing. It hovered in front of him, a small but radiant sphere.
Max exhaled slowly, his body feeling drained from the effort. It wasn't perfect, and certainly not as impressive as Xrak's sixteen spheres, but it was a start.
He'd been able to hold it steady for several minutes now, a significant achievement given the complexity of the task.
Max leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples. He was exhausted, but satisfied. Despite the difficulty, he had done it.
Max took out a small piece of metal and had the blue orb approach it. The metal immediately melted down, but it wasn't hot at all, not even a bit. It was broken down into a form easy to reshape.
"Meh, not much but this is all what a single orb can do."
Max stopped using Kraxtal weaving deciding it was time to have some rest.
"Ai download some video game for me to enjoy."
[downloading the current top seal competitive multiplayer game.. completed.]
The process was done in less than a second, but Max wasn't surprised.
Using the phone as a joystick he started enjoying the game on the holographic screen.
...
.....
Max sat back in his chair, his eyes scanning the virtual landscape displayed on his super phone's holographic screen. He was no longer surrounded by the heavy atmosphere of Kraxtal Weaving texts. Instead, he was lost in the chaotic world of Phantom Arena, a highly competitive multiplayer game where players faced off in strategic combat, utilizing both skill and wit.
At first Max thought that with his speed he would crush everyone, but apparently only superhumans played this game because he was barely keeping up.
"huh? Why can he do that."
Looking at his digital character killed by some pay to win player Max just smirked.
"Ai, Hack the game for me."
A soft chime responded, and the screen flickered for a moment. [Request received. Adjusting parameters for optimal performance.]
Max's his health bar instantly refilled, and the enemies around him froze in place. He moved swiftly, cutting through the opposition like a blade through butter, taking out two enemies in quick succession.
"Game over," the screen flashed as Max completed the final objective.
His team cheered in victory.
'cheater.'
Max looked to the side at Lucy and Mok watching, the obviously woke up earlier but didn't speak afraid that Max will have them learn that black magic called high math again.
Mok looked at Lucy speechless, and Lucy had a cheapish smile knowing that she snitch on herself again.
'cheating is good'.
Max's mouth twitched.
"Don't flatter me Lu, I have something to do any way so you won't have to study for the time being."
Max stood up stretching.
Mok was happy, but Lucy looked at the game wanting to give it a try.
' can I cheat as well.'
Max didn't respond as both Lucy, Mok and all other crows got pulled into the pet space.
" maybe after you learn Kraxtal weaving."
