Walking around, Max was impressed.
This body even had all five senses, although they were extremely dull.
His Vision and hearing were pretty bad while the sense of touch was almost nonexistent
...
As Max was done testing, Lucy brought him 2 sets of silver cards.
One set was smooth on both sides, while the other had one side with different engravings, from dragons to eggs to cartoons..
That was what Max asked of her. It was simply to confuse the enemy if there was a need to.
Taking the cards, Max felt how heavy they were and smiled in satisfaction.
Without wasting anymore time, Max used the reagent, only leaving the side with the carvings as it is.
....
"alright we're done here. Let's go Lucy."
'OK'.
Lucy appeared in front of Max and was pulled into the pet space.
Next, Max looked at the black bonsai, as he had an idea.
Using one of the mirror cards, he touched it slightly, and it was absorbed using [mirror prison].
Max's stats obviously crushed that of a tree, which means it will be under a perfect seal, which is technically a perfect refrigerator.
Looking at the tree that now looks like a painting, Max was satisfied as he flew away.
...
Soon enough, Rusead-city was within sight. It took him around two more hours to get here, in which he had to stop to seal the tree again after the duration ended.
Before reaching the city, Max landed on a mountain not far off from the city.
It was barely 2 km away, and Max judged this was a suitable location.
"This is your stop Lucy. "
spoke Max as he took Lucy out of the pet space.
Lucy tilted her head at him in confusion.
"I have a mission for you.
First, take over this mountain, and after that, I need you to monitor your surroundings for any dungeon gates that appear around you. "
Lucy started taking control over the mountain, and Max waited.
...
Some time later, Lucy completed her job, and Max started explaining what she was supposed to do.
"Just lie low. Make sure no one finds you.
Keep watch all the time. I need you to find dungeon gates before they get discovered. "
Max briefly explains to Lucy how to identify Dungeon gates, then took out the laptop.
"you can keep the laptop, in case you are bored, but don't forget your task.
I will be in the city, inform me if anything happens. "
'how long'.
"hmm, a few days, maybe weeks, depends on the situation.
But don't worry, with my speed you're a minute away, I'd check up on you from time to time. "
'OK'
Lucy didn't like to be alone, but since it was a mission from Max, she didn't argue.
As he took to the sky, Max couldn't help but give a few more warnings.
"also hide the laptop inside a closed cave or somewhere out of sight and don't forget to keep low-key, don't use any of your skills in Plain Sight. "
Max knew she'd really pull such a stunt if he didn't warn her.
Just thinking about it gave him a headache. He just entered the city and next morning news about a new monster type spreads.
The flying laptop that plays anime.
'OK won't'.
Getting a confirmation, Max flew away.
Looking at Max's disappearing back, Lucy set up a cave inside the mountain, decorated it a little, and placed the laptop in the middle of the cave.
Next, she started surveying the mountain.
For a quick survey, it takes her around 20-minutes and Max gave her a simple schedule.
First, slowly and meticulously survey everything around the mountain and get used to the surroundings.
After that, she would enter routine mode exactly every 1 hour, do a quick survey to check for any changes within the mountain.
... … …
Max flew down and walked through the city gate.
Looking around, he was quite disappointed.
The city and its surroundings were filled with high-tech dungeons, so he had high expectations from this city, but it wasn't much different from Kain-city.
"well, I am not here as a tourist, so let's get to business."
Walking around the city, Max noticed that the place was well managed, and the security was quite high.
There were no gangsters on the side of the road, unlike the pack of hungry dogs back at Kain-city.
This made Max feel annoyed. One can't simply get away with killing around here, and having no identity would make it worst.
"well let's try my luck with a few dungeons first. If it seemed helpless, then I'd just leave."
Max needed something that can help hack into private networks, and he needed it soon, because the Oubach attack will give him the best window to access devices such as computers that are connected to those certain networks, mainly that of the government and zero-wing biological Institute.
For the government, it's because of the hive-mind project or the part that wasn't published online, to be exact.
Max had a bit of information about it, thanks to a brief mention from the researcher he chatted with online.
It is the reason why he didn't push the crows to practice [psychic link] in order to reach the perfected mastery and gain some useful effects.
As for zero-wing, Max just wanted to see if they were hiding any secret evolution routes or such.
anyway, gaining more information about how the ash crows came to be should prove handy.
"Sigh."
Max knew that he was shooting blindly, since the chances of finding exactly what he needs inside the dungeon is approximately zero percent, but the other option was to cooperate with some underground organization.
Max wasn't against cooperation, but while some forgotten data being copied isn't a big deal and the government might ignore it or even not notice it.
But if the person Max cooperated with end up taking some vital National Defense secrets, then Max will get a team of A or S-ranks on his tail.
In Max's mind, a formidable foe is less threatening than a pig teammate, so he will only consider cooperation when two conditions are met: first substantial benefits involved, and second reliable allies.
...
Deep in contemplation, Max strolled aimlessly through many streets. Along the way, Max's passive didn't get a good lock on anyone.
Max felt helpless. He just wanted to ask for directions, for any dungeon broker that except bribes instead of identity cards.
To enter a dungeon, one must provide an identity card, and some basic information about himself from power level to the main pets or skills.
....
After some more aimless wondering, Max was getting seriously annoyed.
It's either all the bad guys were held up in some corner he didn't know about or that this city was gangster-free.
Max decided to give up for the time being and checked into the nearest hotel. He wanted to analyze the map thoroughly to plan the next simulation, and a bit of rest would be nice, too.
...
Inside the hotel room, Max took a bath, had a good meal, then went to business
Still in a bathrobe, he walked to the living room and spread the map on the table at the same time, manifesting the 3D holographic map from the simulator.
Lucy marked radiation as: none/ survivable/ deadly.
But the problem was that almost the entire map was at survivable, and that wasn't good news, because what is survivable to Lucy is absolutely deadly to the crows.
Even the green land with the will of the world ruling it were marked as survivable.
Max didn't know how those centaurs and animals survived the radiation. Most probably, the will of that world helped them gain resistance somehow.
Looking down, Max noticed one spot with no radiation. It was the place that kept getting struck by lightning and being cloudy all year round.
"worth a shot."
Next, Max started looking for something related to mirrors, maybe some reflective metal or such, hopefully in the lightning region.
But to Max's disappointment, there were none within that region.
However, he did find mirrors.
It's actually a mutated creature that Lucy recorded. It was a 3 feet tall earthworm with a glass like a head. It is used to reflect the sunlight which helps them hunt for flying bugs.
Looking at their location, there were in a region neighboring a deadly zone, the same one with the countless green fluorescent lakes.
