Apollo Dunn had just thought of going to the club because to him it was a place for him to finally relax. Also he was exhausted and going home to see the face of his preeminent enemy and dying father was a no-no for him....At least not when he's so drained.
When he got to the VIP section he noticed that she was there. On the dancefloor. Though Stella was in her formal attire, she made it look like formal attires were also seductive attires.
No female ever made office outfits look this attractive. She was the woman of allure on the dancefloor, dancing her heart out.
Apollo didn't know why but he just stared at her without even blinking. She was so hot! The way she bit her lips and swayed those hips of hers in the pencil skirt was fascinating.
He had never seen her like this before. He only saw her as a strict, independent woman and seeing her act like this was indeed a thing to remember.
Not until he saw an appallingly looking guy who seemed to be cockeyed dancing with her. He first got angry that she was dancing with someone as revolting as that cockeyed guy. But later it looked like he was harassing her.Apollo watched her push him but the guy wasn't ready to give up on her.
He first thought of acting like he didn't see her but for some unknown reason,he couldn't. He was going to show that drunken fool where he really belonged.
Stella was surprised to see Apollo Dunn standing in front of her. As she stared up at him she felt her heart race. A faint blush crawled on her cheeks as she recalled their intense kiss.
Almost instinctively, the stranger lunged towards Apollo, his fist poised to punch him. But just as the blow was about to land, Apollo moved with lightning reflexes, grabbing the stranger's hand and effortlessly twisting it. Then, with a powerful force, Apollo pushed him away.
His gaze then turned to Stella Cruze, his voice firm and confident as he spoke. "I've got this, Miss Cruze."
The stranger, still reeling from the unexpected turn of events, turned to Apollo, his face a mixture of disbelief and fear.
"Who the hell are you, man?" he whimpered.
Apollo remained cool and composed.
He stoically placed his hands in his pockets, displaying an air of unruffled nonchalance. The stranger's eyes widened in fear as he took in Apollo's calm demeanor.
"Who the hell are you?" the stranger repeated, his voice shaking with uncertainty.
Apollo smirked, enjoying the man's uneasiness.
"Let's just say I have a knack for dealing with people like you," he replied, his tone calm yet ominous.
The stranger nervously glanced around, hoping for some help.
Apollo's voice remained steady and quiet, but there was an undeniable authority to his words.
"I'm about to close my eyes," he said "When I open them again, I don't want to see your shadow."
The man trembled, his legs shaking as he hurriedly turned and fled, disappearing into the crowd.
The room grew quiet, the only sound being the soft music playing in the background and the gasps of the other guests who had witnessed the unexpected commotion. All eyes turned to Apollo and Stella Cruze, their gazes fixed on them like a spotlight.
Margaret immediately ran towards Stella.
"Oh my goodness! Stella,Are you okay?! Thank you so much Apollo."Margaret said.
As he passed them,Apollo paused for a moment, giving Margaret a subtle nod and a small, almost imperceptible smirk before continuing on his way.
"Are you okay?"Concerned, Margaret asked again. "I'm good." Stella said softly. The DJ returned to playing his music and everyone continued doing what they were doing.
"Oh my goodness! I was very scared. Did you thank Mr. Apollo Dunn?" Margaret asked.
"Why should I? I didn't send him to help me."Stella rolled her eyes. Margaret cleared up her throat. Stella turned to her and received 'the look' from Margaret.
"But—"Stella couldn't continue to speak when Margaret cleared her throat again.
With a loud groan and a roll of her brown eyes Stella Cruze walked away.
Apollo was sitting at the bar and Stella sat next to him. "Miss Cruze " Apollo said when he sensed her presence. "Would you like me to buy you some whiskey?" He added politely.
"Should you even ask?" She replied and Apollo let out a soft scoff of amusement. He was amazed by her authoritative self.
"Two glasses of whiskey"Apollo ordered. The bartender then gave them the whiskey. Apollo grabbed it and handed one to Stella Cruze. In silence, the two sipped their whiskies.
"You weren't supposed to come and fight for me. I could do that myself." Stella broke the silence.
Apollo smirked. "Hmm" he added and sipped his whiskey.
"I obviously didn't need your help."she added. Apollo chuckled lightly, it was a captivating sound to hear. "I don't see what's so funny Mr Dunn." She said.
"Pompous."He said in a mere whisper.
"What?" Stella asked. "Yeah. That's what you actually are."Apollo said.
Stella Cruze let out a scornful chuckle. "Do you now realize?"
Apollo chuckled . " Then Mr Dunn, I guess you really don't know me."she added, her tone was full of confidence and dominance.
"I enjoy that about you though."he continued, " You sometimes act according how you actually want people to feel about you, but the truth is you're not that scary."
Stella tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "That's not true."she mumbled. "Why are you here anyways? Do you have anything to say to me?"Apollo asked.
Yeah! The thanksgiving! She almost forgot.
"Yeah, I actually came here to tell you something."she said. "It can not be a thank you. We both know that you would never say thank you to me."Apollo quipped. Stella smirked.
"I will, actually. It can be a thank you." She said.
"Mm. Thank me then " he smirked.
"Yeah...um, thanks."she mumbled.
"For?" Apollo joked, sarcasm dripping out of his tone.
"Ha-ha so funny Mr Dunn "she got up as Apollo chuckled.
"Seriously, I don't know what you're thanking me for? Can you elaborate?" He teased.
"Fine! Thanks for fighting for me."she said "while I didn't need your help!"she added. Apollo giggled.
"Yeah 'Thank you' for the drink " she winked, emphasizing on the phrase ' thank you ' just to tease him.
Stella Cruze begun walking away with a smile playing on her lips. She was beginning to realize how fun he actually was.
"Stella"
Her name rolled out of his mouth softly and her heart skipped a beat.
