I sat alone in the dimly lit room, staring at nothing in particular. Evening shadows cast long streaks on the walls, making the space feel even emptier than before. The silence weighed heavily, as if even the air had decided to abandon me in my loneliness. My eyes stung, swollen and sore from crying, but no tears were left to shed. My throat felt raw, and each breath was shaky, as though my lungs were resisting the very act of breathing.
I had been sitting here for what felt like an eternity, too numb to move, too lost to care. My hair clung to my damp cheeks and neck, sticky with dried tears, and my nose had turned a painful shade of red. Even my skin felt foreign to me, heavy with exhaustion and despair.
