Enzo's POV
Taking a deep breath, I circled the house, scanning every inch of it with sharp, calculating eyes. The shadows stretched around me, long and eerie, as if the night itself was hiding secrets from me. The wind whispered through the trees, chilling my skin, but I couldn't focus on anything except the racing thoughts in my head. Each possibility was worse than the last, twisting my gut into knots. Where was she? Had something happened to her? Or had she run away, knowing I was getting closer to the truth?
My fists clenched at my sides, the leather of my gloves creaking with the pressure. The helplessness I felt gnawed at me, clawing at my insides. I wasn't used to this feeling—this maddening lack of control. I was the one who took action, the one who made things happen. But right now, I was circling her house like a damn predator, searching for something—anything—that could give me answers.
