Tiara's entire body stiffened at his words. The moment they hit her ears, it felt as though the air had been sucked out of the room. Her mind spiraled back to that freezing night—the unbearable cold seeping into her bones, the helplessness as the walls of the cabin closed in on her. A memory so distant yet so vivid. Her lips parted, but no words came out. It was as if a thick blanket of silence had settled over her, rendering her mute.
