Chapter 6 - 4- First Encounter

Author's Pov

As Tiara rushed toward the building opposite her college, she felt a deep thirst and chugged her entire water bottle. After calming down, she surveyed her surroundings to get her bearings. Realizing she was in a chemistry lab, she explored the empty workstations, equipment, and everything related to chemistry.

Checking her watch, she noted that there were still two hours left until her college classes would end. She decided to wait there until everyone had left, allowing her to blend in with the departing crowd.

Sitting down, she idly doodled in her book while listening to music, patiently waiting for classes to conclude. With half an hour remaining, she packed her belongings and zipped up her bag. Just as she was about to leave, she heard several approaching footsteps. Panic overcame her, causing her to run deeper into the lab and hide in an empty cabinet designed for large objects. Being thin, she managed to squeeze inside and left the door slightly ajar to allow for light and air.

"To protect myself, I can't suffocate," she thought, heaving a sigh of relief.

However, her relief was short-lived as the footsteps approached the same room. Three boys entered the lab, and Tiara nervously peeked outside to see them. Among them was a burly guy in a black suit with visible tattoos on his arms, a strikingly handsome man with grey eyes, sharp features, and a third, average-looking, and weaker guy.

The burly guy made the average one kneel before the handsome man, who seated himself on a table. "How dare an omega like you plot against me? Are you tired of living?" the handsome man scolded the kneeling guy, causing Tiara to wonder about their conversation. "Alpha? Omega? What do those terms mean? Maybe they're discussing math and science," she pondered, oblivious to the danger she was in.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard noises approaching her hiding spot. She snapped out of her daze just in time to see the footsteps nearing the cabinet. "What's going on, boss? Is something wrong?" the burly guy asked. "Oh, nothing. I just wanted to take a look around," replied the handsome man. The burly guy then inquired about what to do with him, referring to him as a "pest," which angered Tiara.

She heard their footsteps receding and sighed in relief, leaning against the cabinet door. Suddenly, she tumbled out when the handsome man unexpectedly opened the door from one side. "Out..." she exclaimed in pain as she hit the ground, having placed too much weight on her elbow.

The kneeling guy and the burly guy were shocked to find a girl hiding inside the cabinet, but the handsome man remained unsurprised. Swiftly, the burly guy grabbed a fistful of her hair and shouted, "What the hell are you doing here, little bitch?" The pain in her scalp made her believe he might tear out her hair.

Tiara reacted by scratching the burly guy's tattooed hand with her nails, causing it to bleed. He released her, cursing in pain. She then kicked him hard in the groin, sending him sprawling to the floor, still cursing.

As she prepared to strike him again, two large hands grabbed her from behind and lifted her off the ground. She struggled in his grasp, but the man holding her locked her arms behind her back with one hand. He used the other to choke her slightly. "Little girl, stop struggling if you don't want to die here," he warned in a deep voice, his breath sending a strange sensation through her as he spoke close to her ear.

Her struggles ceased when he tightened his grip on her neck, and she felt her oxygen supply cut off. Tears welled up in her eyes as she gasped for breath. "That's a good girl," he said, making her feel oddly unsettled. "Now, tell me, why are you hiding in this cabinet and eavesdropping on us?"

Tiara managed to gasp out, "I wasn't eavesdropping on your conversation. I accidentally overheard it."

"Don't play games," he growled, increasing the pressure on her neck. Trembling, she nodded. He loosened his grip slightly, and she coughed, drawing in desperate breaths.

"Tell me what you heard, and I want the truth," he demanded, still holding her firmly.

As she hesitated, he tightened his grip once more. Panicked, she finally spoke, "Please, I'll tell you everything. Just don't hurt me. I came here on my own. No one sent me. I'm from the college across the street. Some girls were bullying me, and when I heard that all seven of them were after me today, I got scared and ran away to this building."

"I don't know where I am, but there were still 2 hours left for the classes to end, which is why I stayed here. I didn't touch anything. As I was about to leave, I heard footsteps approaching. I panicked, thinking those girls had arrived. I hid myself in this cabinet, but it wasn't them; it was you people who entered the lab," she explained. "Believe me, no one sent me here. I was just scared of those girls, so I ended up hiding here. I have no evil intentions. Please, let me go," she pleaded with him.

"Do you want me to trust you? Alright, let's put that aside. What did you hear when we were talking?" he inquired.

"I heard 'alpha,' 'beta,' 'gamma,' and 'omega'," she truthfully replied.

"What else?" he questioned further.

"Nothing else," she answered.

"What do you think we were talking about?" he continued to press her.

"I think you were talking about mathematics and science, which often use terms like 'alpha,' 'beta,' 'gamma,' and 'omega,'" she explained. He hid a smile upon hearing her response, thinking to himself, 'Mathematics and science? Really? What a naive girl.'

"Why do you think we made him kneel here?" he asked her, curious about her perspective on the situation.

"I think he made a mistake in solving problems or something, which is why you were scolding him. But making him kneel just for that seems unnecessary," she blurted out.

"Mind your tongue, girl," he warned, glaring at her. "And what do you think about the one on the floor?" he inquired further.

"He doesn't look like a student or a lecturer. But this man is a big jerk; he tried to harm me when I hadn't done anything to him," she replied.

"So, you want me to believe all your nonsense, huh? What do you take me for, a fool?" he said, raising an eyebrow.
