My eyes hurt. Bad. Besides that, I was fine though. I looked around myself. I felt like I saw everything to a red sense, and it sure took a while to get used to. I was in a small room. A bathroom, to be exact. I opened the wooden door and got out. I found myself in a very old, medieval-like tavern. The people around me were dressed weirdly as well. Pretty much the way people in medieval movies used to dress. I figured this was some sort of festival. I went over to the bar counter and asked the bartender where I was.
"The hell you mean where are we? Go play your games with someone else, kid."
Figures. I wasn't going to get any useful information out of that guy. I left the tavern. It was a strange feeling, really. All the buildings around me were built in a medieval setting. All the people on the streets looked really flashy too in their costumes, so I really stood out with my jeans. The people were looking at me strangely, too. I went along the street to find another bar. I started believing that I might be in a medieval world, everything seemed possible to me given that I had just stepped through a magic portal. That was why I chose to look for a bar. I figured that would be the easiest way to gain information. I did feel very uncomfortable in my modern day clothes. I decided to look for a place to get new ones, people would trust me more easily, I figured.
After getting dressed up I went into the next bar I could find. This one had a big mirror behind the counter. This is the first time I saw what I looked like. After I met the Ruler Of Dragons, that is.
My hair had gone from a light brown to a pitch black, and my eyes had become bloody red. I had a thought, but then instantly rejected it. That simply couldn't be. The clothes I had supplied myself with looked kind of badass, if I do say so myself. I was wearing all black with a big black coat. And black boots, of course. As you might be able to tell, Black is a colour I am rather fond of.
Anyway, there I was, in the pub, trying to get information out of the people. The problem, however was that I didn't really know what to ask about. My primary goal was to kill the Ruler Of Dragons, but if I were to simply ask for him, nobody would know what I was talking about.
I couldn't ask if they had seen a person that looked like him, because I did not remember. All I remembered when I thought about him, were his bloody red eyes, and the terrible Aura emitting from his person. I tried to remember his face, his hair colour, how tall he was, but no matter how hard I tried, all I could picture was the suffocating pressure he emitted.
I came to the conclusion that I should ask about Dragons in general. If they did exist in this world, that would be a good thing. However, in that case, they would probably look at me funnily, given that that would be normality. Maybe the best I could do was ask about recent incidents and strange events that had maybe occurred in the past week.
I sat down at the bar. The bartender approached me and said something. I didn't completely understand what he had said, so I politely asked him to repeat. He looked at me with a strange expression, and started pointing at me and screaming something. I didn't understand the language he was speaking. Strange, because I had understood everyone else so far.
Everyone in the pub was now looking at me with a terrified look in their eyes. I started feeling nervous. They all started saying something. They were all speaking the same language, the one I didn't know. I started seriously getting the chills. I felt like an exhibition animal in a circus, except that I didn't entertain anyone, rather scared the hell out of them.
I quickly left the pub. Outside, no one was looking at me. I looked around. I didn't really see anyone in the first place. I kept walking through the village. Every single door was shut, and all the shutters were closed as well. The only person I saw was a little girl that appeared to be running from something. Running from me. She tripped and fell.
I wasn't sure what to do. I wanted to help the kid get up, but she was obviously scared of me. I slowly approached her. She got up and started running away, when she suddenly emitted a loud cry, and fell to the ground. Her entire body was trembling. I rushed towards her. Her body temperature was insanely high. She had a fever. Or something. I picked her up and carried her to one of the nearby houses.
I knocked. Once. Twice. Three times. No one opened the door. Something was definitely wrong here. I knocked one more time, a bit harder. That left a dent in the door. I started getting scared. Of myself. I started piecing the recent events together. The thought I had earlier came back, stronger this time. I started panicking.
I left the girl at the door and ran for it. I was running away, not knowing what from. Maybe from myself. I came across a field. The wheats around me started rotting away. I kept running. I realised that I was insanely fast. And I had a lot of stamina as well. I kept running for what felt like half an hour.
Then I found a cave. It was empty. I went inside and laid down. I needed to get some sleep. Rest. I needed to process what was going on. I scratched my forehead. I always do that when I'm tired. It felt weird. My forehead felt hard. Not like a stone or anything, and not like scales either. My skin slightly felt... very robust. I tried not to think about it that much. That I might have become a dragon, that is.
Of course, dragons usually look like huge lizards, or so I thought, but the Ruler Of Dragons also looked humanoid. Or did he? I honestly did not remember. So I stopped thinking about it too much. Transforming into a dragon is absurd. I just had red eyes, is all.
I decided to try to sleep. I didn't really have anything else to do. Except I couldn't. The moment I closed my eyes, I remembered my hate. My pain. My mother and my entire village, everything I knew, loved and cherished, was gone. Eradicated by the Ruler Of Dragons. I had to kill him. I couldn't possibly fall asleep until I did.
