Feeling like his head was cracking, Leonard opened his eyes in a disoriented manner as he slowly raised his upper body. He found himself in a well-lit, white room with a few decorative vases and paintings on the walls. Lying on a bed covered in soft white sheets that draped over his lower half, he began to ponder.
'Where am I? Did I pass out? That's obvious, genius. But really…'
Questions flooded his mind, but none of them came with answers. A moment later, the door to the room opened, and a woman in a nurse's uniform entered. She carried a few aparatus with her and set them aside on the table next to his bed.
Still unsure of what had happened, his instincts kicked in, and he asked, "Where am I?"
The nurse glanced at him but didn't answer immediately. Instead, she pulled out a syringe from her bag and reached for his hand. Startled, Leonard yanked his hand away, refusing to let her proceed.
