Chapter 25 - Zeus's Discoveries (1)

[Exploration Mission: Get a World Map and explore at least 0.005% of the world.]

[Rewards: A – Rank Summoning Scroll.]

[Duration: 83 days]

Two days had passed since Leonard settled within Rune City. He found the city more reflective of a fantasy trope in novels. Furthermore, there was more to discover in the city that he hadn't had time to explore since his arrival.

He had sold the Crimson Giant Core and the Supreme Chanak's carcass, earning a substantial amount of 25,000 Zack Currency, of which he had given at least 5,000 to Yuna's party for some reason. With the money he got, he thought of buying equipment but decided to set it aside with the thought of enrolling at the Player Academy in the capital.

To enroll and secure his social status, he needed to be at least somewhat wealthy to have fewer conflicts with people—or so he assumed. Most of his knowledge and views on socializing with people were based on novels.

Even though he had read a few academic books in his first life, they had not been put into practice and were just forgotten.

Leonard also prepared his food supply and replenished it inside his . Since then, Leonard had joined Yuna's party, finding interest in their companionship. Furthermore, there wasn't anything wrong with building connections with people. In this matter, he was slowly learning to build his confidence in connecting with others for networking.

As the day was about to end, just finishing a bit of patrolling the city—or what Leonard called it—he entered his room in the Golden Key Inn.

"Zeus," Leonard thought, summoning his first and only summon at the moment. A lightning zap appeared, and Zeus materialized in attire more fitting to the world's norm.

"That look appears to be similar to this world," Leonard commented, comparing Zeus's clothes with his dark tunic and brown trousers.

Zeus's attire seemed to suit him perfectly, still showcasing his chiseled body beneath his silk-made long white tunic and well-fitted brown trousers.

"I do look good in this. It's nothing to be surprised about," Zeus stated without showing any expression. "Anyway, I have something to tell you. Something that I've learned from our archive."

"Your archive contains information from different worlds?" Leonard asked, tilting his head slightly in confusion and curiosity.

Zeus shook his head. "It's Athena's affiliation, so I don't know. But I'm sure there's plenty to get from the archive since our abode is connected with other gods of other realms."

Leonard nodded, not prying further into the complicated net of the gods. "What is it that you learned?"

"Alright. First, I looked for other gods from my abode or realm who had been summoned to this world. I found none, or anything suspicious, indicating that I'm the only one summoned so far—by you. However, that doesn't eliminate the possibility that someone else could be summoned."

Leonard shook his head in disinterest. "Why would you even be bothered by that?" He then fell onto the soft mattress of his bed.

"That's something I should be concerned about as the king of the Greek gods."

"Pft. Okay, I understand."

Noticing Leonard's mocking tone, Zeus could only shake his head as he continued sharing his discoveries.

"I searched for information about the systems and their rules. I still don't know if it's the same world as this one, but there are similarities, so we can assume it's the right information," Zeus said as he continued.

"There are different ranks for classes. We already know that, but what happens if your subclass is higher than your class? That's the first thing I learned. You will become a dual-class Player, which would integrate your basic stats together, giving you dual growth."

"Wait. What are you talking about?" Leonard asked, confused.

"In a Player's growth, their stats increase based on the needs of their class, not their subclass. If you're a Warrior Class and you get a Mage Subclass, your stats will still increase, focusing on your Warrior Class, which would make the Mage Subclass weaker and eventually useless. So, when choosing subclasses, it should be directly similar to your Class. However, this changes if your Subclass Rank is higher than your Class."

Leonard pondered. "So, that's what you were saying earlier. One would become a dual-class Player."

Zeus nodded. "Furthermore, the acquisition of Subclasses is random, based on the potential of your stats. So, if you have good Wisdom stats, there's a possibility of getting a Mage Subclass option. But, there can only be a maximum of three subclass options during each acquisition."

Slowly, Leonard's interest was piqued by the system's premise. It could explain how he got the Godly Summoner and the other option before, since he was already a summoner. But he couldn't be a dual-class Player since they were the same.

"Going back. Becoming a dual-class Player is something difficult to attain, which is why I'm interested in seeing if you could become one with my help," Zeus said proudly.

Leonard shook his head in disappointment as he dismissed Zeus's idea. "I've got a huge threshold for the next level. The next acquisition is at level 30, so leveling up is going to take forever."

Zeus snorted. "It will be like that if you don't take advantage of my power. Since you have higher magic points now, you can earn more experience points by hunting stronger monsters. Furthermore, the provides rewards, right? Right now, you're promised to get an A-Rank Summoning Scroll. If you get another summon similar to a god or goddess, maybe someone like Athena, you can increase your other stats."

"That's something to tackle later on," Leonard sighed. "So, is that the only thing you discovered?"

"No experience points can be gained from killing other people, sadly."

Leonard blinked, bewildered. "Why would you want experience points from killing people?"

"That was just an idea I had before, to help you raise your experience points faster."

"Don't ever think of that. I'm not a murderer."

"But I would be the one to kill."

Leonard sighed but continued to dismiss the idea. He couldn't bear the guilt and had never seriously considered it. Even though he had witnessed someone dying before by Zeus's powers, he didn't want the same thing to happen again.

"Anyway, I've joined someone's party. They'll be traveling around the Zack Republic, and I'm thinking about the adventure of joining them. I hope you don't mind," Leonard said, with Zeus slightly pondering his change.

'At least this kid is learning how to make friends with people.'
