Chapter 43: The Battle of Supremes

As the battle between Xiao Feng and the Third Supreme began, both fighters engaged in fierce hand-to-hand combat. Xiao Feng, holding back his true strength, matched the Third Supreme blow for blow. Similarly, the Third Supreme also restrained himself, but the intensity of the fight was undeniable. The members of both the Qing and Zhao families watched in awe as the two seemed equally matched in raw combat prowess. For a brief moment, it looked as though neither side had the upper hand.

However, as the fight wore on, the intensity escalated. Xiao Feng, realizing that holding back would get him nowhere, finally decided to unleash more of his power. When he did, the Third Supreme's lesser experience began to show. Despite his impressive techniques and strength, he was gradually being overpowered in their close-quarters combat. Sensing that his advantage in hand-to-hand combat was slipping, the Third Supreme shifted tactics and began using more advanced and powerful techniques to even the playing field.

In response, Xiao Feng began to mirror his tactics, matching him once again. But as the battle reached new heights of intensity, Xiao Feng decided to unveil his trump card—the Voidstep Technique.

Using the First Form of the Voidstep Technique, Xiao Feng's speed surged beyond anything a Spirit Sovereign Realm cultivator should possess, even surpassing the level of a Dao Seeking Realm cultivator. His movements became a blur, and the Third Supreme struggled to keep up. He couldn't even see Xiao Feng's attacks, much less react to them.

Then, without warning, Xiao Feng activated the Second Form of the Voidstep Technique—a devastating kick that held an immense amount of potential energy. He had only two chances left to use this form in a day, and now was the time to make the most of it. Xiao Feng's form blurred as he moved impossibly fast, delivering a bone-shattering kick to the Third Supreme. The force of the blow sent the Third Supreme hurtling through the air, crashing through boulders in his path. Blood spurted from his mouth as he skidded across the ground, badly injured.

Realizing he couldn't defeat Xiao Feng alone, the Third Supreme immediately called for backup. Moments later, the Fourth Supreme and Sixth Supreme arrived on the scene. The Fifth Supreme, known for his pride, refused to be dragged into this battle under the Third Supreme's command, and thus chose not to appear.

As the Fourth and Sixth Supremes entered the fray, the Third Supreme, too injured to fight any longer, sat back. The two Supremes coordinated their attacks against Xiao Feng, but despite their combined efforts, they couldn't land a hit. Xiao Feng's speed, thanks to the First Form of the Voidstep Technique, was far too much for them to handle. He moved as if he were teleporting, dodging their attacks with ease and countering when the opportunity arose. Bit by bit, the Fourth and Sixth Supremes began accumulating injuries, unable to keep up.

Desperate, the Third, Fourth, and Sixth Supremes formed a powerful Formation, pooling their powers to create a near-impenetrable defense. This formation was known for trapping opponents far stronger than a Spirit Sovereign Realm cultivator, making escape impossible. Even someone at the Dao Seeking Realm would have difficulty breaking out of such a formation. The Third Supreme had expended a vast amount of his energy to help create this formation, leaving him unable to continue fighting.

Xiao Feng assessed the situation. He considered using the Second Form of the Voidstep Technique again but hesitated, knowing he could only use it one more time today. Instead, he activated the Third Form of the Voidstep Technique. With a crack, he broke the space around him, creating a small fissure in reality. Using the crack, Xiao Feng entered the void, traveling through space and reappearing outside the formation in a flash.

The Supremes were stunned. Not even a Daoist could easily create such a crack in space, yet Xiao Feng, only at Spirit Sovereign Realm Level 7, had done so. They didn't have time to process their shock, however, as Xiao Feng immediately resumed the fight. The Third Supreme was unable to continue due to his injuries, leaving only the Fourth and Sixth Supremes to face him.

Xiao Feng moved with the speed of lightning, reactivating the First Form of the Voidstep Technique. He vanished from sight, only to reappear directly in front of the Fourth Supreme. Before the Fourth Supreme could react, Xiao Feng unleashed the Second Form of the Voidstep Technique once more—a thunderous kick. The Fourth Supreme flew back through the air, crashing through boulders and debris, unable to withstand the power of the blow. He was too injured to even stand, his body battered and broken.

The Sixth Supreme, witnessing this, grew pale with fear. He contemplated fleeing but knew that Xiao Feng would catch him before he could escape. And indeed, Xiao Feng used the First Form of the Voidstep Technique again, instantly appearing in front of the Sixth Supreme before he could even attempt to flee. Without hesitation, Xiao Feng unleashed the Second Form of the Voidstep Technique for the third and final time. The devastating kick struck the Sixth Supreme with full force, killing him instantly.

With both the Fourth and Sixth Supremes down, the Third Supreme, still heavily injured, admitted defeat. The battle was over—Xiao Feng had won.

The Zhao family, having lost their champions, also admitted defeat. The Qing family, along with Xiao Feng, had emerged victorious.

But Xiao Feng wasn't in good shape. Having used the Second Form of the Voidstep Technique three times, he had reached his daily limit and expended too much energy. Barely able to stand, he struggled to maintain his composure, acting tough to mask how drained he truly was. If another Supreme had joined the fight, he would've been defeated for sure.

Xiao Feng returned to the Qing family's side, victorious but on the brink of collapse. His body could barely handle the strain any longer, and as soon as they reached safety, he finally succumbed to exhaustion and lost consciousness.
