Two men stood before the General's door. One was frantically pacing back and forth while the other was busy reading a book.
"Can't you be more concerned?!"
The pacing man stopped as he marched forward and grabbed the other man by his collar. The book was set aside and the two men glared at each other.
"The General is fine. And besides this book is more important right now."
"Huh?HUH? What do you mean this shitty book is more important?! If it weren't for this shitty thing then the General wouldn't even be unconcious right now!"
Everyone passing by ignored how the two most trusted subordinates of the General cursed at each other. They've gotten used to the scene by now and it's only a matter of time before the two's banter turns into an all out fight.
Yuno felt something wet trickle his cheek and the side of his clothes, his left eye twitched and Derick who was still grabbing Yuno on the colar suddenly realized his mistake.
"Your fucking saliva."
"Uh...that"
Derick tried to back off, retreating his hand from Yuno's colar only to be grabbed by the wrist and flung to the wall. Yuno let out a small tsk before grabbing a clean handkerchief from his pocket and carefully wiping away the traces of Derick's spit.
"You clean freak!"
A flying sword was directed towards Yuno's neck which was easily dodged by the other. The sword missed its target and instead pierced a wall. Derick rushed at Yuno, sword drawn as he aims at the other's throat.
Yuno simply tucked away his handkerchief before unsheathing his own sword, the hilt glowing a light red color.
"Oh, using aura now huh? Finally showing your true colors. GOOD!"
"I might as well finish you off while the General's unconscious."
"Hah! Not if I kill you first!"
Suddenly the sword Derick's holding was enveloped in a purple light, at the same time the blue light from Yuno's sword spread out.
Luckily the servants were already gone, all of them leaving the moment they saw Derick's spit landing on Yuno's face.
Two swordsmaster with killing aura rushed at each other, just as when their swords was about to collide, the door to the General's room opened. The two halted, their swords hanging awkwardly on the air.
Of course no normal person would think of having a fight in front of their boss chambers, but these two did so for the last three days. Two pair of eyes looked at the newly awoken man.
Their General finally woke up and he woke up in the worst possible time ever. Yuno was the first to recover. He swiftly shifted his sword before sheathing it like he didn't draw it from the start. Slowly, he approached the General who was still standing by the door.
"General you're finally awake. Do you want us to call the doctor? Is there anywhere that hurts-"
"The book."
The General's raspy voice startled the two and only then did they see his total mess of a face. Their General has always kept a very tidy appearance, one that would even mistake him for a prince of a foreign country. So seeing him wide eyed, teeth clenching and his hair looking like it survived a mana explosion, the two looked at him dumbfounded.
The sword Derick was carrying suddenly fell to the floor with a thud but Cyrus didn't pay him any attention. He ignores his unkept appearance, his throbbing headache and the gawking stares his subordinates were giving him.
First things first he needed to find the book, that darn book!
.
.
.
It was a normal Sunday morning if it weren't for a mysterious book suddenly falling from the sky and crashing above the Esteemed General's head. So it goes like this. The Esteemed General was called to go on a sudden meeting arranged by the Emperor.
Cyrus was reluctant to go. He felt that something terrible was going to happen and he didn't have time since he was busy filling up paperwork. But of course no one can disobey the crown's orders and he-eventhough reluctantly-made his way to the palace.
Derick and Yuno also tagged along when they heard from a nearby servant. The three of them shared a carriage and midway through the ride, the two-unsuprisingly started to squabble. At that time Cyrus was already supressing the headache he received from leaving the manor and now two more people were adding fuel to the fire.
Luckily the ride to the palace was fast. He left first and ignored the duo who were still verbally fighting on the carriage. Usually he would have walked with urgency and onto the palace court, but today-he just feels a bit under the weather.
With a slow pace, he was already halfway through the palace garden. Red roses were blooming everywhere and maybe just maybe he hears a strange ringing sound from his ear-
"Your plan?! If it weren't for me you would've died!"
Or it could just be an after sound from Derick's piercing voice.
As Cyrus took another step, his breathing fastened, his heartbeat also fastened and his hands and feet grew cold. It didn't help that an official was coming his way, waving a hand with a bright expression. Derick and Yuno must have noticed him too since they temporarily shut their mouths.
"General you're here! I've got good news, the Emperor-"
Suddenly the world turned black. Cyrus didn't know what happened. The last thing he heard was the ringing sound becoming louder and louder. When he figured out where the sound came from, he looked up to the sky to see a random book falling straight towards him. As a general, his instinct has already been trained to avoid any attacks, yet it seems that his body wouldn't move on instincts.
The last thing he saw were the book's front title 'I've turned into an omega?!'
"What-"
Before he can finish his final words, the book fell and accurately hit him. The last thing he felt was a wincing pain travelling through all parts of his body before he finally collapsed.
"General!"
The first time he woke up, he woke up inside a dream. The dream was pretty vivid and he couldn't understand nor remember much about it. The only thing he could remember was a subtle face of a man, looking at him with both fondness and hate. His tone was gentle as he spoke the most brass words Cyrus has ever heard.
"You ***** after ******, you ******, ****** and *****, I hope you die and ******. Piece of **** ***********. Marry that **** omega again and I'll **** ********* ******** *****. You either read the book or I'll rip that **** of yours. Make the same mistake and everything I've said will be done, even beyond this dream.
The message was cut off and followed by a very, very disturbing dream. The next thing he knew, he was awake. This time inside his room, lying on his bed.
He grasped his throbbing head and for a brief second he could hear the message on his dream being whispered through his ear. Unconsciously, Cyrus shivered. Most of the dream's contents were a blur, the only clear once consisting of a threatening message and a very graphic act of violence that even suprasses the Empire's torture.
Shivering from the thought once again, Cyrus made work and searched for the book. He flipped through everything, disassembled everything and tossed everything, but to no avail the book was nowhere to be found.
Deciding that the book wasn't on his room, he hastily fixed his robes before opening the door and witnessing two of his most trusted subordinates raising their swords at each other.
Now that he thought about it, the two of them were there when he got crashed by the book.
They must know where the book is!
.
.
Derick and Yuno looked at their usually stoic General frantically asking about the book. They were quite concerned and a bit scared about their General's mental health and appearance.
'Do you think the book is cursed? Is the General cursed? Should we call a mage? A witch? The emperor?!-'
'You're loud. Shut up.'
'Oh you fu-'
The two who were talking via telepathy, courtesy of using mana suddenly stopped as Yuno broke the connection. He stepped forward and bowed at the General.
"This humble servant is delighted to see the General awake. As for the book, I have it in my person-"
"Give it to me."
Yuno was cut off by a cold voice, the young man blinnked unfazed as he continued to question the General.
"I just want to ask why the General needs it."
Cyrus frowned. He really doesn't need the book. He doesn't even want to look at it, preferably he wants it burned. He doesn't even know why he needs it. Why would he even read a book that's probably a romance novel with a cliche title like 'I've turned into an omega?!'
Slowly, the General's thoughts became less foggy and just as he was to dismiss his earlier order, an echoing statement ringed on his ear rip that **** of yours.
As the General was too focused on his thoughts, he didn't notice Yuno calling out to him.
"Genera-"
"My manhood. He said that he'll rip my manhood if I don't read the book."
