Suddenly, a sharp knock at the door broke the silence. Both men turned, startled by the unexpected intrusion. Before either could react, the door swung open, revealing Ariana. Tears streamed down her face, her expression one of desperation and urgency.
" Ariana? " Dr. Harris began, stepping forward.
" What are you..." But Ariana didn't respond. Instead, she rushed to Sarah's side, her hands trembling as she began to undress her. Dr. Harris and Austin exchanged a bewildered glance before moving to intervene.
" Ariana, stop! " Austin shouted, grabbing her arm.
" What are you doing? " Austin inquired confused and frustrated Ariana's eyes flashed with a wild intensity.
" I need to save her, " she cried out, her voice cracking with emotion.
" I can help her, but I need to see the wound! " Dr. Harris tried to reason with her, his tone urgent yet calm.
" Ariana, we know you're upset, but you can't just... " Before he could finish, Ariana's strength surged, and she flung both men away from her with a force that sent them crashing into the door. The impact was so strong that the door shattered, splintering into pieces and throwing them into the hallway. Austin, dazed and with adrenaline pumping through his veins, struggled to his feet. His mind raced, suspicion gnawing at him. Ariana's strength was far beyond that of a normal human.
" Could she be...? " Austin muttered in his mind.
" Ariana, what's going on? " Austin demanded, his voice a mix of fear and anger as he approached the room again as his body started to turn to that of a wolf. Ariana turned to face him, her eyes glinting with an unnatural light.
" I have to save her," she repeated, her tone desperate.
" You don't understand. The poison... I can counteract it. " Dr. Harris, picking himself up from the ground, looked at her with a mixture of confusion and realization.
" Ariana, what are you talking about? What do you know about this poison? " Ariana's face was pale, her eyes filled with a mixture of determination and sorrow.
" The poison in Sarah's blood... it's from a source not known to humans. I have seen it before. I can help her, but I need to... use my own blood. " Austin's suspicion solidified into a chilling certainty.
" You are the half-wolf, half-human, aren't you? " Ariana's shoulders slumped as if the weight of the world pressed down on her.
"I don't know what you are talking about but there's no time to ask nonsense question because we are all wolf's. My blood can neutralize the poison. " Dr. Harris, still reeling from the revelation, struggled to comprehend.
" But how... why...? " Ariana's eyes met his, pleading.
" Please, just trust me. If we don't act now, Sarah will die. " Austin's mind whirled with the implications, but he pushed aside his fear and suspicion.
" If you can save her, do it, " he said, his voice filled with a brother's desperation. Ariana nodded, tears streaming down her face as she moved to draw her own blood. She took a deep breath, preparing herself for the task at hand. Dr. Harris watched, torn between his medical training and the surreal reality unfolding before him.
" Are you sure this will work? " he asked, his voice tinged with doubt. Ariana glanced at him, her expression resolute.
" It has to. " She swiftly extracted her blood, her movements precise and practiced. As she prepared to inject it into Sarah's IV, the door burst open again, and there was a black dark huge wolf standing outside.
