More often than not, Wade could always describe how he got himself into a situation, but this time, on this occasion, he couldn't give an exact and understandable reason. At this very moment, he was lying down in a bed that wasn't his, with two cold yet incredibly soft bodies latched onto him.
Down below the cover at his waist, the lovable and cold Eliza Cullen could be seen with her arms wrapped around Wade's waist as she buried her face in his now-healed abdomen and wrapped her legs around his.
Not hidden by the covers, an equally lovable and cold Alice Cullen could be seen laying on Wade's chest with her arms around his neck and her face buried into his neck; she was in the right position so that she wasn't impeding Eliza from staying in complete contact with Wade just as she was.
Around the smiling Wade was a dark room with random decorations scattered around; it was clear to him that the person who stayed in there didn't care to really make it feel like home, which wasn't that surprising when one knew who stayed there.
Many, no, everyone would consider Wade to be a lucky man in this situation, and even he himself would agree, but not everyone would choose to take his place, especially not if they knew the emotions, desires, and new commitments brewing within the minds of both Eliza and Alice; they would never let an event like before occur to Wade again.
'Perhaps I should've dodged...' Wade said inwardly as he felt Eliza tighten her grip around him; the two women connected to him were sad, he could tell, and that wasn't something he liked in the slightest.
It hadn't been long, but Wade could recall in detail the horrified looks on both Eliza and Alice's faces a few hours ago. They had all grown closer to each other over the past month, but the girls were clearly more into him than he previously believed.
Thinking about how he ended up in this situation, Wade began to rethink everything that happened after the accident in detail.
-- A few hours prior --
Inside the Cullens residence, a happy-looking Wade could be seen seated on one of the living rooms couched with two vampire women latched onto each side of his body whilst his butler stood near him in a professional manner.
"So, what's the looks for?" Wade spoke, breaking the thick silence that had settled after everyone arrived.
"You can see?" Edward spoke, his tone almost accusing as he looked at Wade with narrowed eyes and a sharp gaze, though his reason for asking the question made sense; Wade's words insinuated that he could tell how they were looking at him.
"No, I'm blind," Wade replied before turning his head to you and speaking again. "This version of Batman really sucks, don't you think?"
"What?"
"Nothing." Wade chuckled mischievously before continuing. "My senses are sharp so they make up for my lack of sight in more than a few ways."
Knowing his words may not convince everyone, Wade took off his glasses and opened his eyes, presenting to everyone his white pupils, a sign of blindness for some, though not all.
"So you've got a healing gift and are like those blind martial artist people who fight better than people with their eyes..." Lynda said with a thoughtful expression; she seemed to be forming a few ideas.
"I guess." Wade shrugged as he pulled Eliza and Alice closer to his sides; he had already healed, so they wouldn't be dirtied by his blood.
"The young master's gift isn't something Cold Ones would understand; do not assume anything about him," Walter stated, his tone almost disgusted that the Cullens had tried to understand Wade, but the fact that he called them Cold Ones seemed to surprise everyone but Wade.
"You..." Carlisle spoke before pausing and regaining his bearing. "May I ask your name?"
Gazing upon the Cullens with a critical eye, Walter replied. "I am Walter Dornez Phenix, the loyal servant of the young master."
'Hoho, he even threw in his middle name.' Wade said inwardly; he had once thought his butler was only Walter Phenix, but not everything was as it seemed, and he found out more as he grew; his family and servant weren't as simple as he thought.
"Then, Mr. Phenix, how do you know what we are?" Carlisle continued, his tone a bit more demanding this time.
"Do you believe you're the only supernatural species in the world? Many know of your kind and the little group who governs you; don't be surprised by something as mediocre as this." Walter snorted in response.
"...What do you mean?" Rosalie asked; she believed only Cold Ones, Shapeshifters, and Children of the Moon existed in the supernatural world, but from Walters's words, it would seem that more than those three roamed their realm.
"I mean that you lessers aren't the apex of the world; you're merely outcasts that everyone ignores," Walter replied bluntly; he was very clear with his dislike, distaste, and disgust toward Cold Ones in general.
"Be nice, Walter," Wade ordered, his tone serious, unlike usual.
"My apologies, sir," Walter replied immediately with a butler-like bow directed at Wade, breaking the thick silence Wade had destroyed before returning, but just as it returned, it was broken by the sound of a phone ringing.
"It's from the mistress, young master," Walter said as he handed Wade the phone.
'Guess she got off from her work trip early...' Wade said to himself.
Sighing, Wade took the phone before answering. "Hello, mother."
"WADE GODFREY!" Liona Godfrey, Wade's mother, screamed through the phone.
"Yes?"
"..." Nothing sounded from the phone after Wade replied, but the sound of Liona taking deep breaths could be heard; she was attempting to calm down.
"Where. The. Hell. Are. You?!" Liona said, screaming the last bit; she tried but failed to control her anger.
"Forks."
"Where the hell is Forks?!"
"United States."
"You're done for! Do you understand me?!" Liona screamed one last time before hanging up the phone; she'd be in town soon enough.
"You're in trouble..." Alice whispered, breaking her silence for the first time in an hour; it was very unusual for her to be quiet for this long.
Laughing, Wade agreed. "Oh yeah, I am completely fucked!"
Continuing to laugh, everyone ignored Wade and turned their attention back to Walter before Esme spoke. "Are you human?"
Almost everyone present was wondering this about Walter; his scent was nothing like they'd ever encountered before, and it was now clear to the Cullens who'd seen him prior to this that he was hiding his scent before.
"No," Walter replied disdainfully; he knew Wade didn't care that he revealed it to the Cullens, so he spoke truthfully.
"Then-" Emmett spoke before being cut off by Walter.
"I am a Vampire, a real Vampire," he said, surprising the Cullens, even Eliza and Alice perked up at his words, which made sense; the Cold Ones present all thought that they were Vampires.
"Are you a Vampire too?" Eliza asked Wade, her tone serious as she lifted her head and looked at him carefully.
Similar to Walter, Wade's scent was different from what they'd encountered before, but he was similar to humans in a way, but also not completely; he was clearly unique.
"Nope," Wade replied comfortably; he wasn't a Vampire, at least at this moment.
"Mhm." Eliza hummed in response before returning her head to Wade's side
"This is a lot to take in," Carlisle said, releasing an unnecessary sigh; the Cullens had expected to ask Wade and Walter a few questions about how they survived, but nothing went as planned, and quite frankly, they needed some time to think before they could continue this conversation.
"Can we put this conversation on hold and resume tomorrow? If possible, I'd like to regroup so I can better understand everything." Carlisle asked genuinely, his question directed at Wade since it was clear Walter wasn't the one in charge.
"Yeah, sure," Wade replied before grinning and continuing. "I'll be taking these two ladies for a while, though."
Chuckling, Carlisle stood up and spoke again. "Of course, have fun."
Having a feeling he would, Wade maneuvered his arms under Eliza and Alice before standing up and lifting them with him; like this, the two girls were being carried by him with their arms around him and their heads buried in his neck.
"Room?" Wade questioned as most of the Cold Ones disappeared from the room quickly; they clearly had much to discuss with their respective mates.
Knowing he and his wife were the only ones left, Carlisle replied. "Up the stairs and to the left, it'll be the very last door; I can help you up there if you need."
"I've got it. Thanks," Wade stated before speaking to Walter. "You should probably get home; Mom's gonna be here any minute."
"Yes, sir," Walter replied, understanding the underlying meaning behind Wade's words before disappearing from the Cullens residence, and soon enough, Wade was on his way to Eliza's room.
To be continued...
