Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: A Heroes Beginning

The Sword of Retaliation is a powerful sword that can bring an end to an entire kingdom from whoever possesses its unstable blade. Whoever possesses this blade will determine whether they are worthy of controlling its power. It was forged from the great seed of nature and the sorrowful tears of the sky; this blade is both a blessing and a curse to whoever wields it, as it can only be held by the one whose heart is indulged with hope and despair.

The Minimoy Village - 4,800 years ago (1920)

The Minimoy village was bigger and beaming with positivity with a mix of both Minimoy's as well as former residents of Necropolis. During the incident that occurred, Necropolis citizens travelled to different parts of the remaining six kingdoms in need of a home and made themselves comfortable and useful to the people who were kind enough to share their kingdom with them. Despite some issues here and there from the other kingdoms, the Minimoy's have welcomed them with open arms.

In a small food shack-like home, Atlus, 1,900 years old, had woken up from his sleep, again experiencing a dreadful nightmare. He calmed his mind down, although their imagery was slowly burning into his memory. He got out of his bed and immediately made his way to the Minimoy village. There, he meets up with his friend, Mac; although Atlus considers him a friend, at times, he can't stand his buffoonery and wishes to be left in peace.

"Hey, Atlus!" Shouted Mac, his voice sounding similar to a singer with too much autotune.

"Hello, Mac, what is it that I can do for you on this 'wonderful' day?" Atlus said in a sarcastic manner and with a voice sounding deep and almost unhearable.

Mac answered, "Haha, very funny, Atlus."

Both Atlus and Mac are at a local market, both grabbing essentials for their daily lives, but suddenly, they notice a group of soldiers carrying away a villager from his home. The villager's veins were covered in this green glow, and they were acting incredibly barbaric. People around them watched with worry.

In the Minimoy village, there have been numerous incidents, all relating to the same thing that was villagers or residents, 98.7% Necroplians, acting incredibly barbaric with how they have this sick desire to bite. These incidents have been occurring for almost a whole year (27 hours in human days).

The soldiers transport the villagers to a fortified prison to see if they can help those who are acting this way and in hopes of finding an antidote to prevent this from happening to anyone else.

"The crisis has been averted, carry on with your daily routine!" Said one of the soldiers, with a voice sounding like a leader.

The people went on with their lives but worried this would happen again.

Atlus turned to Mac whose beam of positivity was now brought with sympathy and worry. Atlus nudged his arm and said, "You're okay?"

Mac nodded his head, answering, "Yeah, yeah, I'm just... it must be tough for people like them, not to mention their families..."

"Why would you care?" Asked Atlus, knowing full well the answer.

"I just do..." Answered Mac. Both Atlus and Mac finished their shopping and both went en route back to Atlus's home; Mac continues, "Not all of us are fortunate with our lives... and we have to go through some hard times to experience good times... but I wouldn't expect it from a Necroplian like yourself..." Mac later realised what he had said and how it deeply affected Atlus.

Atlus was one of the many survivors of "The Battle of Titanaem", which was the fall of Necropolis and a heavy casualty count of ten thousand. No one truly knows what caused the fall of the Kingdom, but there have been rumours that the exiled Necropolis warrior, Atrium, was to blame as he owned a dangerous weapon.

"Atlus, I shouldn't have said that..." stuttered Mac, regretting what he had said.

"Don't be..." said Atlus "You're right in a way... I was only a child when my parents were taken from me, and throughout the years, I could never bear to understand the suffering of the goodwill..." Atlus places his hand on Mac's shoulder "Unlike you... It's like you said; not everyone is fortunate... Mine, as well as many, may not have been a good one, but that is not what defines it's the rest of the story." Atlus patted Mac's shoulder, presenting a believable smile and walked off, leaving Mac shocked.

"Woah..." chuckled Mac, his sad expression was gone.

"Hey, you coming?" Said Atlus.

"Oh, right!" Mac said, running after Atlus.

From above, a hooded figure watches Atlus and Mac, his hand glowing a dangerously unstable blue. He turned away, disappearing into the shadow.
