Chapter 16 - Stellar the Sailor

Hunter had been listening throughout the conversation between Rex and the woman on the other line.

Rex was laughing his butt off for something she said, which only made Hunter more curious about what was going on.

"What are you guys talking about?" Hunter whispered, waving his hands in front of Rex's face.

The young CEO turned toward him, a smirk spreading across his face.

"For a moment, I thought I had a new species of monkey waving at me."

Hunter frowned at the remark, just when a bark of laughter echoed from the other line, making him realize who the CEO might've been talking to.

"Wait, is that Stellar?"

Instead of responding, Rex turned to his phone and began tapping away. Hunter anxiously waited for an answer until Rex finally handed his phone to him.

Hunter gasped at the sight of the woman on the other line, who was making a funny face at the camera, causing him to grimace.

On the call was Stellar Wang, Ezekiel's real fourth cousin.

"Hey, you little bitch. Heard you were looking for me."

Hunter grumbled hearing what she called him, eliciting a loud laugh from the woman. He grimaced once again as a flush of red crept across his cheeks.

This woman was the infamous Stellar Wang, known as 'The Sailor'. A woman whose face was so beautiful, many had believed the nickname meant to be a pirate princess who steal men's hearts.

'It was for something else.' Hunter thought to himself.

Stellar Wang was the youngest maiden among the Wang clan. Renowned as the most beautiful maiden in all of Metro, she had captivated both men and women alike with her stunning appearance.

Some of her male admirers regarded her as the Goddess Aphrodite, who had bewitched mortals with her beauty, while some characterized her as Helen of Troy, the woman who launched a thousand ships, all just to fight over her and claimed her as theirs.

Stellar Wang was that person.

However, not many had seen her behind the curtain and the doors of the Wang clan. The real Stellar. The one that Hunter had met during one late afternoon during a family meeting.

The one who made him afraid to talk to cousins and some random girls he might meet on the streets.

That Stellar.

"So, have you come to terms with telling him about your plan, dear Rex?"

Hunter snapped back to reality upon hearing Stellar's voice.

Sarcasm was evident in her tone, yet Rex only chuckled, maintaining his composure at bay.

"Well, no, Big Sister. I am still thinking of the best way to tell him about the plan."

Stellar hummed in response, she was now on a video call, but their previous conversation was an audio call.

She looked at Hunter with her lips pursed, arms crossed and her torso leaning back against her chair.

"Well, that's tough, buddy. I thought you might've told Lucas already. So we can get this plan in action."

Hunter could only look between Rex and Stellar as he tried to recall what plan they were talking about earlier.

"How about you, Hunter? Any suggestions?"

Hunter was stunned.

He stared at Stellar, confusion written all over his face. He had been so lost in his thoughts about his first meeting with Stellar that he didn't even hear half of the conversation.

Stellar's expression shifted from curiosity to a deadpan.

Her lips were now pressed together into a thin tight line, sending a chill down Hunter's spine.

He raised both of his hands up to the sky as if ready to surrender.

"I'm innocent."

Both Rex and Stellar face palmed themselves and sighed in frustration. It was clear to them that Hunter wasn't in his right mind.

Stellar was the first one to recover and quickly pulled the video camera close to her face, making sure that Hunter could see the frustrations and disbelief etched across her face.

"Hunter, have you forgotten to take any of your medicines?" she asked sharply.

Hunter tilted his head, confusion spreading across his face.

"Huh? Why would I need medicine? I am not sick?"

Rex took a deep breath, feeling a heavy lump stuck in his chest as he gazed up to see Hunter's expression switch from confusion to outright fear.

"Then why the fuck aren't you paying any attention, you dipshit?!" Stellar snapped.

Hunter felt as though his soul left his body in that instant. 'Oh, fuck. I made her mad. Damn it!'

"Answer me, you fucktard!"

"S-Sorry!"

Hunter gulped, his mind couldn't think of any words and went blank. He knew he had messed up, causing Stellar to show her true self, yet he couldn't bring himself to be mad at all.

This was the Stellar that he had first met at that family gathering—the serious, foul-mouthed Stellar her suitors never knew about. Hence the nickname, "Stellar the Sailor."

"Sorry, my ass. Spill it. What were you thinking earlier?"

Hunter's mind abruptly stopped working as he glanced at the camera. Stellar watched his face, making sure to capture any changes in his expression.

"W-What do you mean?"

"'Wa-What do you mean?' Spill it, you jackass. I know you were thinking of something earlier."

Hunter looked away, turning toward Rex and noticed that the young CEO snickering a small laughter towards him, making Hunter's face flush with embarrassment.

'You dickhead, shut up!'

"We are talking about something important and here you are, daydreaming about something. Care to share?"

Stellar was glaring at him in a particular way, and he could feel the mockery in her tone, while she slowly revealed an attitude that very few were aware of.

"Alright, sorry! I wasn't thinking about anything at all!" Hunter finally protested.

He might've been lying at this point, but he didn't care. There was no way in hell would he admit that he was admiring Stellar's beauty.

Stellar squinted her at him before leaning back and clearing her throat.

"Anyway, Rex…"

Hunter could only sigh as he turned the phone towards Rex and let the two continue their talk once again. He sank back into the sofa and listened attentively this time to what Rex and Stellar were talking about.

Time seemed to be crawling, and Hunter felt like he had been in the office all day when Rex suddenly looked him straight in the eyes.

"What?"

Rex cleared his throat, grabbed his phone from the table and moved closer to Hunter.

"Help me," he said.

Hunter blinked at his words and even looked over to the phone to see Stellar's expression. Her face was unreadable, it literally had no expression, whatsoever.

Hunter sighed again and looked back at Rex.

"Fine. But, you have to make sure this gotta be good."

Rex nodded, grinning at his older cousin and pumping his fist in the air. Hunter also heard Stellar yelling on the other end of the screen and slowly shook his head.

'What the hell have I gotten myself into now?'
