Su Yi wiped the sweat off his forehead, his nose scrunched up from the horrid smell coming from the pile of dung in front of him. He had been tasked to move the cow dung to the compost site. The one at fault for that was…
"Damn, that Xiao Yan."
Xiao Yan had a grudge against Su Yi, the cause being a joke that Su Yi made at his expense some time ago. Because of that, when Xiao Yan, who was ahead of Su Yi in terms of cultivation, got promoted to an Inner Disciple of the sect, he made use of his newfound authority to make life hard for all of the Outer Disciples.
He thought of his fellow sect mates who got punished by Xiao Yan. Most of them were sent to the Beast Valley to pick up herbs but in reality, this was a death trap as the Beast Valley is one of the Forbidden Zones inside the sect.
As he shoveled the dung onto the transportation wagon, Su Yi slipped on a piece of dung and fell on the pile. Thanks to the grace of Heaven, his mouth was closed but sadly his clothes were now stained with feces. As he got up, a barrage of curses left his mouth, cursing Xiao Yan to the depths of the Netherworld.
With much reluctance, he continued shoveling the dung until almost midnight before dragging the wagon towards the compost site. These kinds of tasks took the whole day leaving the unlucky one responsible for it with no time to cultivate.
Arriving at the compost site, he shoveled the dung inside. However while he was doing so, he discovered a brown cube. 'Why didn't I notice it before?' Su Yi thought to himself as curiosity got the best of him. He reached his hand out to the cube to pick it up, but as he touched it, an incandescent light entered his eyes. The compost site was surrounded by brightness for a second. Once it died down, there was no trace of anyone being there.

"Gacha System? More importantly, where am I?" He muttered to himself, staring at his surroundings and finding a lifeless room before turning to the text box in front.

"How are you meant to assist me?" He curiously asked as he had never heard of such a thing happening before.

Su Yi, now back in the compost site, stared dumbfounded at the remaining pile of dung. As he was pondering what to do now, a system alert brought him out of his daze.
[Host has received a Daily Roulette Ticket]
"Oh yeah, the system did mention something like that." He remembered the system telling him about the daily ticket. 'But how do I use it? Do I have to think about using it?' As soon as he thought about it, the system got to work.
[Daily Gacha Roll in process, please wait…]
"Please be something good, please be something good…" he prayed, hoping this would somehow compensate for falling in the pile of excrement earlier.

Suddenly, Su Yi felt like needles were pricking every pore of his skin. He had never felt this much pain in his life. Furthermore, after a few seconds a foul stench, if that was possible, entered his nose. He checked his body to see what was wrong with him, and by doing so he discovered the cause of the smell was a black sticky goo that oozed out of his skin, staining his clothes. After he realized it, he started scrubbing it off his skin, dirtying his clothes even more but getting it off his skin.
'I'll have to wash these later…'
"Senior brother? Is that you?" Su Yi turned towards the direction of the voice and saw it was a younger sect mate. She had entered the sect a year after him and reached Qi Refining Stage 8 while he was stuck at Stage 3. It was something that embarrassed him but there was nothing he could do about this gap.
Liu Yue reached out to her senior brother. She had known him for a while. He wasn't a handsome man, and even a little on the ugly side but he was the nicest person she had known. She had expected to see the usual face but she was completely wrong. A man with a symmetrical face, sharp eyebrows, and alabaster eyes that seemed to draw everything to them. His black hair, half-tied up, complimented his face and gave him a mature and elegant look.
"Yes?" Su Yi responded a bit bewildered as he noticed that she was in a sort of trance. She started moving closer, much to Su Yi's chagrin.
'What is she doing?' As he thought that, Liu Yue started touching his face and his body, not minding the environment, the smell, or his dirty clothes. After a short while, Su Yi asked her what she was doing, only then did she realize what she had been doing.
"Oh! I'm so sorry senior brother! It's just…" she quickly tried to justify herself, flustered.
'Is she feeling alright?' Su Yi wondered.
"If you're not feeling well, head back, I'll be fine. This environment isn't the best place to be around, given the smell and all…" He said to her politely, but inwardly a little weirded out by what she had done.
"Ah, yes! I'm sorry senior brother, I'll go back to my room now. Goodbye!" She ran off quickly, leaving Su Yi alone… If we don't count the dung pile.
"Guess I'll finish up here now and go rest."
