Today Seth Woke up early, 4:00 in the morning, the reason he did that was unknown, maybe it was because he was going to the Academy today. But there is more than one academy and they are all located on different habitable planets.
So truthfully, Seth does not know which one he is going to, Thally was also awake, she didn't lack energy today. " Well, surprisingly, you woke up early today, You must be excited about going to the Academy or not"
Seth looked back at her. "Of course I am, I am a very competitive person if you don't know"
Thally narrowed her eyes. "Well, look who became confident in a few weeks, which is good but you should probably not mistake that confidence for arrogance"
Seth nodded. "I know, I don't get the feel of acting arrogant, it won't help me, it will just make other people hate me and become my enemies"
"Why do you suddenly sound like your dad, I mean he acts arrogant sometimes but you are like not."
Seth then smiled. "Well I am less like my dad and more like my mom, though that could be wrong, I don't have anger issues…or do I?"
After shrugging it off Seth put on his clothes which didn't look fancy, it was his casual wear. After that, he did his usual morning routine and then went outside.
"Why are you out here?" Thally asked with confusion.
"To see the sunrise" Seth stood outside, his breath visible in the early morning air as he watched the sky shift from inky black to shades of orange and pink. The quiet of dawn was peaceful
Then he turned around. "Ok I feel like my mom is watching me and is probably angry i came outside with nothing warm to wear"
Helen was indeed watching him through the window, at first she wanted to go downstairs and pull his ear, It was reasonable because he might catch a cold and…he was going to leave for the academy today and she was reluctant to let go.
After Seth went back into the house, he went to the kitchen and made some breakfast with the help of Thally.
After he was done his mom came downstairs and immediately pouted. "Seth, you know it's not the best idea to be out in the cold without a proper jacket. Especially today."
Seth, who was finishing breakfast with Thally's help, looked up with a sheepish grin. "I just wanted to catch the sunrise, Mom. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal."
Helen shook her head, though her eyes softened as she approached him. "Well, it's a big deal to me. It's not just about the cold. It's about you leaving for the Academy today. I'm worried."
Seth's smile faltered slightly. He knew his mother's worry came from a place of love, but he also knew he needed to move forward. "I understand, Mom. But I need to do this. It's time for me to take the next step."
Helen sighed, moving to sit at the kitchen table. "I know. It's just hard for me to let go. You're my son, and I want to make sure you're prepared for everything out there."
Seth joined her at the table, setting a plate in front of her. "I appreciate that. And I promise, I'll be careful. Dad gave me some solid advice, and Thally's got my back."
Thally, perched on Seth's shoulder, nodded in agreement. "You know it. We'll face whatever comes our way together."
Helen looked at Thally, a small smile appearing despite her worry. "And how are you holding up, Thally? I know it's been a tough adjustment for you, too."
Thally chuckled. "I'm doing just fine. Seth and I are a team, and we're ready for whatever the Academy throws at us."
Helen's expression softened further. "Alright then. I guess if you're both ready, there's no point in holding you back. Just remember to stay safe and keep in touch."
Seth reached over and took her hand. "I will. And thanks for everything, Mom."
She thought for a moment. "It's ok, also go tell your dad you are leaving, who knows maybe he will give you a surprise"
After saying that Helen hugged him, and Seth returned the hug warmly, appreciating the comfort and support from his mother. "I'll go see Dad now. Thanks for the reminder."
He left the kitchen and made his way to the lab, where he found William engrossed in his latest experiments. The room was filled with various apparatuses and the faint hum of machinery.
"Hey, Dad," Seth called out as he entered.
William looked up from his work, his expression a mix of surprise and curiosity. "Seth? What's up?"
Seth approached his father's workstation, noticing the concerned look in William's eyes. "Just wanted to let you know I'm about to leave for the Academy."
William's gaze softened. "Already? It feels like just yesterday you were a child. Well, I suppose it's time for you to start this journey."
Seth nodded, a bit nervously. "Yeah. Mom's been worried about me going outside without a jacket, and she told me to come say goodbye."
William set down his tools and walked over to Seth, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You've grown up so fast. I'm proud of you, Seth. I know you'll make the most of this opportunity."
Seth looked at his father, grateful for the support. "Thanks, Dad. I hope to make you proud."
William thought for a moment then took out something from one of his shelves. "This is something from when I was younger, not to brag but I was a cool one"
Seth looked at him with skepticism. "…mhm sure I don't think a data chip will help me"
William suddenly smirked, the thing was a small chip. "Son, even you know I am not a simple man, this Chip contains some very interesting council secrets, the only reason why I am giving this to you is that one day, there will come a time when I will need you to make the council lose face"
He said with a righteous voice and Seth looked at him with disbelief, Thally who was on his shoulder chuckled. "..So are those like each member's personal and embarrassing secrets because I know you are not giving me the actual council secrets, you are way too cautious…even when you met Thally"
William narrowed his eyes and then smiled. "Yes they are not, I gave you only information about their abilities and their various annoying personalities, Especially those twins"
He muttered the last part and gave Seth the chip, Seth didn't hesitate and took it. "Oh well, I'll be going to school so we can be picked up and go to the Academy, Also will drag you out of your lab once I am gone…Who knows maybe I'll have a little brother or sister by the end of the year"
William chuckled, shaking his head. "You never know. It's been a while since your mother and I talked about expanding the family. But don't get your hopes up too high."
Seth winked. "Just a bit of fun speculation. Anyway, I should get going. The transport will be here soon."
William nodded, his gaze lingering on Seth with a mix of pride and concern. "Alright, remember to use the chip wisely. The Council isn't to be taken lightly, and you'll need to be sharp."
Seth nodded, tucking the chip safely away. "Got it. Thanks for the advice and the support."
After going outside Seth finally saw the bus.
While somewhere in a very certain lab, a man with yellow hair and a scar across his face walked, and beside him were two scientists.
"How is it going" The man asked with a dark undercurrent in his voice.
One of the scientists immediately filled him in. "Subjects 564,785 and 357 are the only ones to survive the experiments, we have trained them for seven months and they should be ready to be tested"
The man opened a door and nodded. "That seems better than the last batch, the rest all became mutated mush of flesh, piss, and blood"
The other scientist nodded his head. "True but they are still useful as fodder, We have successfully merged the abilities of the subjects with the genetics of 'that thing', using beasts was inefficient and that one crashed on this planet years ago, though it's dead, it's body contained unmeasurable amounts of energy"
"Yes, 30 years is a long time but it was worth it, soon it will be perfect and no one can stop me" Once he opened the door he saw three people looking at each other, all had different expressions.
One was a teenage girl with a playful expression. She had White hair and gold eyes, and on her skin were golden markings that seemed to be intentionally placed there.
One was a boy who didn't even look at the two, he had blazing red hair and blue-colored eyes flickering like flames, he looked at the new people who came in.
"One…two no that isn't right? General Andreas Mackieven, an interesting name, you know this seems interesting, oh you want us to go to an academy, oh how cruel" The last one was a boy who had green hair and green eyes, he had a huge smile on his face.
Andreas didn't seem to be surprised by him. "Your ability is strong, but looking into the future for a few minutes isn't impressive, Since you already know what I am going to say, explain to those two" Andreas gestured towards the two scientists, who nodded and stepped forward, preparing to elaborate on the mission details.
The girl with white hair and golden markings, her playful demeanor still intact, leaned forward with curiosity. "So, what's the plan for us at the Academy? What exactly are we supposed to do?"
One of the scientists, a middle-aged man with a grim expression, cleared his throat and began. "Your primary mission is to integrate seamlessly into the student body and staff. The Academy is a hub of diverse talents and knowledge, and it offers the perfect environment for gathering crucial intelligence."
The boy with blazing red hair, who had been silent until now, raised an eyebrow. "And what if we encounter resistance or complications?"
The scientist nodded, acknowledging the concern. "In such cases, use your discretion. The goal is to achieve your objectives with minimal disruption. Your presence should be subtle, yet impactful. Keep an eye out for key individuals and situations that could be of interest or pose a threat."
The girl with white hair, seemingly unfazed by the gravity of the mission, smirked. "And if we need to make a statement or influence outcomes, how should we proceed?"
Andreas stepped in, his expression serious. "If the situation calls for it, act decisively but with caution. The Academy is a highly controlled environment, and any overt action could have unintended consequences. Your abilities should be used strategically to manipulate situations in our favor."
The boy with green hair, still grinning, chimed in. "I'm ready for this. It sounds like it'll be quite the adventure. I'll make sure to have some fun along the way."
The scientists exchanged glances, and one of them spoke up. "Just remember, your primary goal is to gather intelligence and ensure our objectives are met. Fun is secondary to the mission's success."
In a small apartment, Yalen who was enjoying the air on the balcony suddenly had a grim premonition. "…Something…Something is Wrong"
"Oh I didn't pay my rent" He nodded grimly.
