Chapter 4 - The Big House

Lyneth woke up early, her heart racing with excitement. Today was her first day as a housekeeper at Mrs. Santos' big house. She had barely slept, her mind racing with thoughts of what to expect.

She got dressed quickly, putting on her best clothes. She had ironed her uniform the night before, making sure it was spotless. She didn't want to make a bad impression on her first day.

As she walked to the bus stop, Lyneth felt a sense of pride. She was finally doing something to improve her life, to provide for Analyn. She was taking control of her destiny.

The bus ride was long, but Lyneth didn't mind. She was too busy thinking about what lay ahead. When she arrived at the Santos' house, she was taken aback. The house was enormous, with a sprawling garden and a driveway that seemed to stretch on forever.

Lyneth took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. She walked up to the door, ringing the bell. A few moments later, the door was answered by a stern-looking woman.

"Can I help you?" the woman asked, her voice firm.

"I'm Lyneth, the new housekeeper," Lyneth replied, trying to sound confident.

The woman nodded, stepping aside. "Welcome, Lyneth. I'm Mrs. Santos' assistant, Rosa. Please come in."

Lyneth followed Rosa into the house, her eyes widening in awe. The interior was just as impressive as the exterior, with marble floors and crystal chandeliers. Lyneth felt like she was in a different world.

Rosa showed Lyneth to the kitchen, where Mrs. Santos was waiting. "Good morning, Lyneth," Mrs. Santos said, smiling. "I'm glad you're here. I'll show you around the house and explain your duties."

Lyneth nodded, following Mrs. Santos as she gave her a tour of the house. There were five bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, and a playroom for the children. Lyneth was amazed by the sheer size of the house.

As Mrs. Santos explained her duties, Lyneth listened intently. She was to clean the house from top to bottom, cook meals for the family, and take care of the children. Lyneth was determined to do a good job, to prove herself.

When the tour was over, Mrs. Santos handed Lyneth a set of keys. "These are for the house and the garden," she said. "You'll need them to do your job."

Lyneth took the keys, feeling a sense of responsibility. She was in charge of this beautiful house, and she was determined to make it sparkle.

As she began her work, Lyneth felt a sense of pride. She was finally doing something to improve her life, to provide for Analyn. She was taking control of her destiny, and she was determined to succeed.
