Third person's POV
"Fuck!" The acrid scent of fear mingled with the metallic tang of blood in the air as Andrew cursed under his breath as he realized the group of vampires he was following knew he was behind them. His jaw was tightened and his fists were clenched. The rough texture of his calloused palms pressed against his short nails, threatening to break the skin.
He gritted his teeth furiously when he realized he had let his guard down.
"Did I really think they wouldn't catch on? What was I thinking? Where is my rationale?" He wondered inwardly, feeling disappointed at his own shortsightedness.
He knew that was because of his desperation. If not, he would never have thought that vampires would not know that they were being followed.
By the time he realized, he had been led into a deserted corner, way down the street of the city. The vampires were nowhere to be found and it was just Andrew alone standing in the middle of the corner.
