Jade's POV
"I don't know anything..." I was trying to deny but my mother interrupted me, quickly, before I could finish.
Her gaze was fixated on my face and I quickly looked away, hoping she hadn't read anything on it.
"You know you are a terrible liar, Jade. You can't lie to me. Now, tell me everything you know about Andrew. Does he have a secret he is hiding? Or something like a weakness we can use against him and his father?" My mother rushed out her questions.
"Mom! When are you going to stop being like this? Looking for someone's weakness just so you can use it against them? What changed you so much, Mom? Or have you always been like this and I just didn't know?" I yelled out in frustration. My mother narrowed her eyes at me, probably taken aback by my outburst. And for a moment, she seemed to look hurt.
That got to me and I paused. I exhaled sharply then sucked in my lower lip. She also stayed quiet just, staring at me.
