Chapter 81 - A taste of trouble

Andrew's POV

"Is nobody hungry yet?" Lydia's melodic voice rang out from the back seat. She had just brought back her head into the car as she had been busy watching the scenery as the car moved. 

I smiled knowingly. It was approaching dusk so I had known the girls would definitely be feeling hungry already, and I had a plan in place to solve that. But I decided to tease her a little. 

"No. Are you?" I asked her, sounding surprised. 

"Am I? Of course, we are hungry." Lydia protested, trying to sound serious but was failing. I could detect the amusement in her voice. 

"We? You are the only one who has talked about hunger..." I was saying in response but Lydia quickly butt in, cutting me short. 

"Jade is, too. If you are not hungry, then we, the girls are." She stated sharply. 

"Jade never said anything..." I pointed out and I allowed my eyes to flicker to Jade. That was when I realized she hadn't even been listening.
