Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Playing a Game

Ye Qiu glanced at the woman's flat chest and said helplessly, "Sorry, your condition is beyond help. Even if Hua Tuo were alive, he couldn't do anything for you. I can't help."

"----------------"

Ye Qiu became a celebrity at the New World Plaza, with people everywhere greeting him as "miracle doctor." Given the fast pace of modern life, many people are in suboptimal health, so there was a constant stream of requests for medical help.

There were requests for breast enhancement and weight loss, for headaches and fevers, for toothaches and stiff necks, for curing body odor and hemorrhoids. One well-dressed man even took off his shoes and socks right in front of Ye Qiu, asking for treatment for his athlete's foot---

Ye Qiu fled in panic, abandoning his shopping plans at New World.

As Ye Qiu was leaving, three military-plated Mercedes cars sped towards the plaza. The cars stopped, and a group of well-dressed people, looking anxious, rushed into the mall.

Ye Qiu stood by, deep in thought, but ultimately decided against going back to watch the commotion. He headed towards a small supermarket opposite New World. He needed to buy some essentials, or he wouldn't have a blanket to sleep under tonight.

After finishing his shopping, Ye Qiu hailed a taxi to take him back. The car stopped at the gate of Blue Apartments, and Ye Qiu carried his newly purchased bedding, clothes, and toiletries to his small room.

In the courtyard were two cars: a red Ferrari and a yellow Lamborghini. Shen Monong's silver BMW wasn't there, indicating she hadn't returned from work yet. Remembering her faint fragrance, Ye Qiu felt a slight regret that she wasn't home.

---

"Sister Tang Tang, I'm so bored after playing games all day," Lin Bao'er said, stopping her game mouse and pouting.

"Well, what can I do about it? Sister Monong won't let us go out---" Tang Guo sighed, stopping her game character as well.

"Sister Monong won't let you go out, but she didn't say I couldn't go," Lin Bao'er said with a playful smile. "I'm going out for a bit. Staying inside is so stuffy."

"Bao'er, what about me if you go out?" Tang Guo became anxious upon hearing Bao'er's plans. She was even more restless than Bao'er but couldn't go out easily after two kidnapping incidents. Having Bao'er with her was a comfort, and if Bao'er left, she couldn't bear being alone.

Lin Bao'er smiled mischievously but maintained a conflicted expression. "I really want to go out and play. How about we both go out?"

Tang Guo was tempted but remembered Shen Monong's instructions and abandoned the enticing idea. "No, no. Sister Monong would be angry. Bao'er, stay home with me."

Seeing her plan succeed, Lin Bao'er hesitated for a moment before saying, "Alright, I'll stay home. But we need to find something to do."

"What should we do?" Tang Guo asked, puzzled.

"I don't know," Lin Bao'er shook her head. She picked up a potato chip with her slender fingers and popped it into her mouth. "But I know someone who might have ideas."

"Who?"

"Ye Qiu."

Tang Guo pouted, displeased. "What fun could a country bumpkin have?"

Crunching loudly on her snack, Lin Bao'er chuckled. "Sister Tang Tang, you don't get it. We've played all the games in the city. Ye Qiu is from the countryside; he must have some games we haven't tried. We can ask him to suggest one for us three to play. The time will fly by."

Tang Guo felt torn. She had just fought with Ye Qiu and even planned to stab him. Now she had to go ask him to play a game? But if she upset Bao'er, the girl might drive off and leave her alone at home. How could she stand that?

Tang Guo gritted her teeth. "Bao'er, I just fought with Ye Qiu. Can't we---"

"Sister Tang Tang, fighting is no big deal. They say fighting means affection---not that I'm saying you like him. No one got hurt, so don't worry about it. He's your bodyguard; it's only right to have him keep you company," Lin Bao'er coaxed.

"But if I go to him now, isn't that admitting I was wrong?"

"Fine, I'll just go out and play by myself," Lin Bao'er played her trump card, standing up and heading to the door.

"Bao'er, Bao'er---" Tang Guo grabbed Bao'er's arm, hesitated for a moment, then gritted her teeth and said, "Alright. I'll go get him."

Ye Qiu was tidying his bed when someone called his name from outside. He walked to the door and saw Tang Guo standing there hesitantly.

"Ye Qiu, I---I was wondering---" Tang Guo was flustered and couldn't get the words out. She, the fierce Miss Tang, was well-known in Beijing. When had she ever had to swallow her pride and show weakness?

"What's up?" Ye Qiu asked calmly, a hint of amusement in his eyes at seeing Tang Guo's awkwardness.

Tang Guo pinched her thigh, her fighting spirit rekindled. Why should she fear a mere bodyguard? She got straight to the point: "Do you know any games?"

"Games?" Ye Qiu didn't understand what she meant. Did this woman want to play games with him? Man-woman games?

Tang Guo nodded. "Yes. You, me, and Bao'er. The three of us will play a game."

Three people?

Despite his efforts, Ye Qiu's facial muscles twitched slightly. He really wanted to laugh.
