"You're truly an idiot to think the battle is over with just that attack," a voice echoed, causing Zerus to stop in his tracks.
A frown slowly formed as Zerus turned towards the source of the voice. There, Kael was seen unharmed by the wave of water. The wave appeared to be splitting into two with each step Kael took.
"Now, let's get the battle started!" He exploded forward, clenching his fist tightly. He had recently discovered that fighting with his fist was better than using any weapon, or maybe he hadn't yet found the right weapon that suited his fighting style.
Zerus's slow strides suddenly turned into a sprint as he ran towards the charging Kael.
Kael swung his clenched fist forward, smashing through the wall of water that appeared before him. Jumping backwards, he was just in time to evade a water spear, which exploded on impact, sending out little shards of water forward.
Casually waving his hands, the shards were repelled back. With his recent enlightenment in space manipulation ability, he prepared to test out new skills that he formed amidst the battle.
Being able to sense the spatial energy, he easily manipulated the space before him. Countless waves of water spears crashed at the spot where he once stood. Zerus felt a foreboding sense of danger instantly surrounding himself with walls of water.
"That won't do," Kael muttered with a smile as he slammed his hands into the ground. A surge of gravitational energy pulsed forward, easily paving through the walls. Finding an opening, his figure blinked, appearing inside the walls of water.
"Idiot! You're going to regret coming close to me!" Zerus exclaimed with a smile. The water suddenly transformed into spikes, which streaked towards his direction.
"Huh?"
The spikes turned into water, splashing to the ground.
Kael had activated his gravity shift skill, enabling him to control the gravity within the designated range. "You are the idiot for letting me this close," Kael muttered, clenching his fist tightly.
Throwing his fist out, it slammed into the struggling Zerus, sending him shooting backwards.
A wall of water formed behind, stopping him from going further. "You call that punch? Let me show you how it's done!" A pool of water formed underneath his feet as he glided towards Kael. His clenched fist was getting covered in a condensed form of water as he closed in on Kael.
Kael, not one to hold back, threw out his fist, also both clashing at the centre. Kael was pushed backwards, feeling several water saws, cutting his fingers down to his elbows.
Not bothered about the injuries gotten from the clash, he charged forward, eager to repay the favour. His hand was already getting healed as he advanced closer. Swinging his hand out, the crowd was quite confused by his sudden action, but their eyes soon widened into saucers as they saw a faint energy travelling at a high speed.
"Ugh, dammit!" Zerus groaned, failing to evade the attack. A long gash was seen from his shoulders down, slowly dripping blood to the ground. His hands were soon covered in a strange glowing liquid.
"That's different from the normal water he usually uses." Not waiting, Kael once again dashed forward before teleporting from his spot.
"I've never tried this before, but let's see how it goes." Appearing behind him, he grabbed him by his neck and then teleported high above the ground. Zerus felt a strong force pressing him down as he struggled to free himself. Both appeared to be floating mid-air as Kael held him with just one hand.
Clenching the other, he punched down. His fist wrapped in a faint glow, slammed into Zerus's chest causing him to spit out a blob of blood. The decrease in gravity led to a significant boost in his speed, which increased the force of his punch.
Kael, still holding onto him, delivered another devastating punch this time letting go of him. The impact was felt by all as they watched Zerus crash with a large bang on the ground.
Kael, not giving him a moment of respite, appeared behind grabbing his head. He slammed him to the ground while skidding, causing his face to break through the layers of earth.
"This guy…" Duncan was shocked. He had thought Kael was scared before, but it appeared he was wrong, causing him to let out a strange smile. "I hope you get to the final so that we can have a great fight." He muttered before closing his eyes.
"Shit! Once he's close, it becomes harder for me to fight due to his shitty gravity skill." Zerus was clearly getting toyed around by his opponent, which frustrated him greatly.
"Arghhh!" He groaned loudly. "I am the son of Theseus, and I won't admit defeat here!" He exclaimed as a dense amount of water burst forth from the ground, separating both of them.
"Now you're taking the match seriously? What you should have done at the beginning of the match." Kael swung his hands rapidly, releasing countless void slash which wrecked Zerus apart. The blades easily bypass his water walls though weakened but found their mark.
A few he had evaded, but the amount was so outrageous he was finding it difficult to counterattack. 'What if I just manipulate the space around him and then make use of the skill.' Sensing he still had a substantial amount of energy left. He decided to give the idea a go. Stretching his hand, he activated his void sense, further boosting his spatial awareness.
Although not stated by the system, after his recent success in trying to merge both skills, he found out the void sense also helped him sensing the space around the area.
Just like teleporting, he felt the range of what he was trying to do was limited. "This will do." Since the arena was well within his range, he had no problem at all.
Zerus was finally having a brief respite after finally destroying the attacks. Breathing slowly, he looked at his body, which was filled with slash marks. "Dammit!" He exclaimed as he stared at the being before him with fury. "What's he up to again?" He wondered as he desperately charged forward.
