Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: The Ancestor of Ghosts and Gods!

Solei directed his blood energy."Thump, thump!" With the strong and powerful heartbeat, Solei's heart pumping ability increased again! The spirit bones throughout his body cracked and popped, making Solei feel a comfortable sensation. He knew that his physical body could now withstand an attack from a second-level Spirit Sea Realm cultivator without using blood energy.Solei restrained his breath and his eyes gleamed as he felt the surging "blood spirit power" within him."Level twenty! Spirit Sea Realm!" Solei exclaimed excitedly. Then he realized that with his breakthrough, there should be some changes in his skills as well!"Sizzle..."His arm started to crackle and sizzle. He quickly looked at his left hand and discovered that his blood hand had summoned out of thin air, and there were many golden runes on it, extending from his wrist all the way up to his shoulder.Solei looked at the familiar golden runes in shock."Is this...?" Solei was unsure.Suddenly, he was horrified. "Ghost God Runes! The exclusive mark of the Ghost Cry profession!" Solei remembered the origin of these golden runes. He fell silent. Ever since he accepted the power of the Blood Demon, he found it increasingly difficult to understand these powers that belonged to him.

He knew very well that the power of the Blood Demon had integrated well with the power of the Imperial Blood Slayer, but where did his Ghost God power come from?

He wanted to ask the Blood Spirit, since the power of the Imperial Blood Slayer had already merged with it, it should know.

"Imperial Blood, are you there?" Solei transmitted his voice.

No one responded, as if the Imperial Blood never existed in Solei's body.

Solei gave up. He knew that unless it contacted him, he wouldn't be able to find it.

But the next moment, the void in front of him started to distort, and darkness once again engulfed Solei.

"Here we go again!" Solei seemed used to it.

In the darkness, Solei sat cross-legged in the void, looking at the huge blue screen in front of him, both strange and familiar.

On the blue screen, a skill instantly unlocked.

It was Blood Energy Burst or Rage Burst from the game.

The skill released an active skill.

A pool of blood energy formed around him, surging upward, causing massive damage to all enemies around.

Solei looked at the unlocked skill with a blank expression, as if he already knew that he would learn a new skill upon breaking through.

What he was worried about now was the golden runes on his arm.

Solei raised his blood hand and clicked on Blood Energy Burst.

Suddenly, more memories filled his mind.

These were the memories of a young man.

In the scene, a young man was running desperately, with several cultivators in hot pursuit, and their speed made Solei feel they were faster than anyone he had ever seen.

This land seemed like another illusion, surrounded by mist, with many caves barely visible through it.

The young man held a spirit herb, running frantically, and soon hid in a dark cave.

His sword-like eyebrows revealed a pair of big dark eyes.

The few cultivators outside looked around, seemingly very cautious of these caves.

"The spirit herb is on him, what a cheap gain for him! Damn it!" One cultivator with a fierce face and a machete shouted arrogantly.

The hook-nosed man beside him sneered, "He entered these caves, he is doomed without us doing anything! Let's go!"

The cultivators quickly left the dangerous area.

After all, no matter how good something is, you need to be alive to enjoy it.

The young man kept his head down, holding the spirit herb, with a determined look on his face.

Solei couldn't clearly see the young man's face, but it felt so familiar.

Next to the young man, a pool of blood-colored substance was slowly moving toward him...

The memory suddenly broke off, and Solei opened his eyes, finding his forehead drenched in sweat, as if he had been the one in the scene.

"What was that? Why did it feel so familiar, like I was actually there?" Solei struggled to distinguish between reality and illusion.

"Huff, huff! Huff, huff!"

Solei heard the wind, and suddenly, the Imperial Blood Slayer appeared before him out of thin air.

Even though Solei had been with it for a long time, he still found it terrifying.

"You guessed right, that young man was you!" The Imperial Blood Slayer said coldly.

Hearing this, Solei's head started to ache, as if he really had experienced it.

"Do you remember our first meeting? I really thought you were stupid!" The Imperial Blood Slayer said.

Solei was speechless, and the memory began to replay in his mind.

"Do you want to stop being bullied, or become stronger?" The mysterious voice surrounded the young man.

"Who are you!?" The young man suddenly turned around.

"I don't need it, I will become stronger myself!" The young man shouted.

"It's not your choice to make, it's mine!" The blood-colored mist enveloped the young man.

The young man's hands kept waving as he felt his breath become more urgent. The young man shouted, "I don't need any power, get away from me!"

"You don't understand, the choice is not yours, but mine!" The body in the blood-colored mist said decisively.

"Ah!!" The young man kept shouting.

Solei's memory ended in the blurry figure of the young man.

It was too real! That was Solei's first thought.

"You said that was our first meeting?" Solei asked, panting.

"Yes!"

Hearing the confirmation, Solei was speechless.

"You really didn't give me a chance, forcing me to accept your power." Solei looked at the domineering Blood Spirit.

The Blood Spirit sneered, "You were so stupid back then, I wanted to kill you!"

"Uh..." Solei awkwardly opened his mouth.

The Blood Spirit continued, "You will recover your memories sooner or later, no need to ask me."

Solei nodded thoughtfully.

"Then can you tell me, what's with the golden runes on my hand?" Solei revealed his arm.

"Your situation is far more complex than your previous life. I can only tell you that when you entered this realm, I saw a man being pulled into a painful abyssal illusion in your body!"

Solei's eyes widened in disbelief.

Why does that sound so familiar!

"Do you know his name?" Solei quickly asked.

"I don't know! However, nine soul entities emerged from that illusion, sealed in your blood hand! They exist within the illusion of your nine levels of Bloodburn! And the pattern on your black ruler is one of them, and I think you should know his name." The Blood Spirit said seriously.

Solei was stunned, as if he realized who the man was.

"The ancestor of Ghost Gods! The priest Jig!"

This entity possessed:

- First Ghost God, Kazan, the Blade Soul!

- Second Ghost God, Keiga, the Shadow Remnant!

- Third Ghost God, Pleurim, the Erosive!

- Fourth Ghost God, Saya, the Frost!

- Fifth Ghost God, Rasher, the Plague!

- Sixth Ghost God, Kalo, the Infernal Flame!

- Seventh Ghost God, Brashu, the Evil God!

- Eighth Ghost God, Bred, the Wraith!

- Ninth Ghost God, Priest Jig!
