Chapter 82 - Chaos vs Alex [Part 1]

The tension between Arin and Alex was high, but the outcome of the battle would soon be known because...

BOOM!

In an instant, Arin kicked off the ground, his cloak fluttering wildly as he dashed toward Alex.

Immediately, Alex pointed his staff at Arin, and then...

WHOOSH!

Fireballs instantly formed above him, and with a swift swipe of his staff, they headed toward Arin, who was fast approaching.

WHOOSH!

Even after seeing the incoming fireballs, Arin didn't slow down. He squinted his eyes and thought, 'These fireballs are no match for my enhanced speed.'

In that instant...

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Arin began swiftly evading the fireballs, moving in a zigzag manner as he gripped his sword tighter and continued approaching Alex.

The fireballs exploded as soon as they hit the ground, leaving scorch marks.

BOOM!

Arin kept evading them, keeping his eyes on Alex, who was about to summon more fireballs, but, of course, he wouldn't let that happen.

WHOOSH!

Arin's speed suddenly increased as he raised the sword in his right hand.

BOOM!

He swung the sword, instantly destroying another fireball that he couldn't evade.

WHOOSH!

He slid under another one, and as soon as he regained footing, he leaped toward Alex, who had a frown on his face.

WHOOSH!

Arin was coming down like a meteor, with his swords in an X shape, positioned to strike.

'He's fast,' Alex thought, 'but I already expected this.....'

Instantly, when Arin was just about to reach him, Alex slammed his right foot on the ground, and a wall made of ice suddenly appeared, tall enough to reach Arin, who was still airborne.

"Shit..." Arin cursed as he swung his swords with immense force.

BOOM!

The ice wall was instantly destroyed, but it gave Alex the chance to leap back, creating distance between himself and Arin.

As soon as Arin landed on the ground, he dashed toward Alex without wasting time, but Alex had already done something.

He slammed the bottom of his staff on the ground, and in that same instant...

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Three golems made of rock suddenly emerged from the ground and began running toward Arin.

Instantly, Arin stopped his advance and squinted his eyes, scrutinizing the golems.

"Hahaha," Alex laughed as he looked at Arin. "Just so you know, I can create more of those if you like."

Because of their size and the fact that they were made of rock, the golems weren't too fast, giving Arin time to make his decision.

Though, because of this, he ignored Alex, who now had a frown on his face.

'I can do this,' Arin thought. 'I'm sure my strength will accomplish that.'

Instantly, he moved enough Blood Energy to his legs, strengthening them.

'Hmmm, I'll add just a little more,' Arin thought as he added more Blood Energy to his legs.

Immediately, a grin appeared on his hidden face as he crouched.

Alex squinted his eyes as soon as he noticed this. 'Huh? He looked hesitant to approach just some seconds ago.'

BOOM!

This time, the ground beneath Arin completely shattered as he blasted off the ground, dashing toward the incoming golems with immense speed.

WHOOSH!

As soon as he got close to the first golem, which had already swung its huge arm toward him, he planted his feet firmly on the ground and leaped up, evading the arm while performing a front flip in the air.

Just as planned, his body went above the golem's head, but that wasn't all.

While falling back to the ground, he placed his feet on the back of the golem's head, and then...

BOOM!

Arin's body blasted forward like a bullet toward the second golem. He tensed the muscles in his right foot, adding more Blood Energy as he got closer to the golem.

He spun midair, launching his foot toward the golem's head. Instantly...

BOOM!

The golem's head was destroyed as Arin landed on the ground.

Without wasting time, he continued dashing toward Alex, but the third golem was in his way, and its right arm was already coming toward him.

WHOOSH!

Before the golem's arm could hit him, Arin rolled to the right, evading the arm.

BOOM!

The golem's arm hit the ground, instantly destroying it and causing debris to fly.

Meanwhile, Arin had already regained his footing, but Alex already had his staff pointed at him.

WHOOSH!

A wave of fire instantly left Alex's staff with immense speed, heading toward Arin.

Instinctively, Arin slammed his right hand on the ground, and a wall of water was instantly formed, shielding him from the fire wave.

A dust cloud formed from the collision, but Arin could still hear Alex's voice.

"H... How can you use magic?" Alex asked, his voice still laced with surprise. "You're a Vampire, so how?"

"Tch..." Arin clicked his tongue. "You never listen, do you? I said one question at a time. Your first question hasn't even been answered, and you've already asked a total of three."

Though Arin was mainly using his enhanced physical capabilities as a Progenitor Vampire—because that was the only area in which he surpassed Alex—it was the only way he could manage to keep up with him.

At this point, Alex couldn't hold it anymore and instantly snapped.

"AGHHHH! Stop messing with me!" he exclaimed.

Instantly, fire began spreading out from Alex's hands, forming a circle, like a ring of fire. The ring extended for quite a distance, with Alex and Arin in the middle of it.

Arin looked at Alex's eyes and noticed that his pupils seemed to have flames inside.

Alex held his staff with both hands as he whispered, "Flame Domain."

Instantly, the ring of fire intensified, and Alex's eyes shone brighter.

"Master, your Death's Whisper spell won't work on him again, right?" Seraphine asked.

"Hmm," Arin squinted his eyes. "I tried it again, but he seemed to have used a spell to block it."

"And I think I know what spell he used," Arin added.

Huge swords made of flames suddenly began appearing around the ring of fire, from all angles, all pointed toward Arin.

"Until one of us dies....." Alex whispered as he raised his head, a crazy grin on his face, "no one is leaving this domain."

"Shit....."
